"Executes shouldn't be considered a death!"

I miss when it was announced as humiliation instead of execute. Good times.
That was a thing? I want that back. DO IT RITO!
Yeah, Rito felt it was too harsh to the people learning to jungle and not stand under towers.
Pretty unfair to hear "HUMILIATION" when your team mate fails to finish their first run.
Haha pretty embarrassing, but I'd vote to bring this back. Even when it happens to me, I get a good few lulz from it.
It isn't really appropriate. I see people intentionally execute themselves more than accidentally. It's like getting a stalemate in chess when you were about to be checkmated. It's almost a victory in a way.
well they really shouldnt its not like anyone got gold over it so at most you waste time dead
Did the turret/minion/monster kill you? If yes, you died.
its a death but not something score worthy to put down but that just IMO
If you died to a monster/minion, it deserves to be on your score.
Edit: this is coming from someone who has done it. we live, we learn.
I found out the hard way you can get stuck behind the krugs when I Deceived behind them while counterjungling. As luck would have it the enemy jungler walked around the corner shortly afterwards to take care of me. xD

What happens if you die to deny your opponent a kill? or in a tower dive where you don't take any damage? You know, like most executes are.
God these boards never cease to amaze me with how bad they are, op is a scrub, his teammate has a point, these boards are clearly full of bronzes who are capable of upvoting this crap.
You did not escape. You may have evaded handing gold to the enemy team, and for that they have 1 less kill than your team has deaths, but you still died.
Death is Death, and every death is tallied. Time spent dead is time not spent last hitting, not spent on taking objectives, and time that your team is a man down, allowing the other team to push the advantage. It deserves to be tallied, because it is time that you and your team were not at full potential.
You did not escape.
Except that yes, you did.
You may have evaded handing gold to the enemy team, and for that they have 1 less kill than your team has deaths, but you still died.
And yet you lose nothing for it.
Death is Death,
No, it isn't. If death was death than that dive was not worth it, and running to the enemy tower to get executed would be pointless.
and every death is tallied.
Evidently.
Time spent dead is time not spent last hitting, not spent on taking objectives, and time that your team is a man down,
See thing is if I dove the tower it's them missing cs because the tower is killing their cs, if I let tower kill me instead of recall that means someone was chasing me and is now not in position to do anything either.
allowing the other team to push the advantage. It deserves to be tallied, because it is time that you and your team were not at full potential.
How about you count each recall as well? How about you count each missed cs as well? How about you count objectives that you did not participate in taking?
This is moronic, KDA is there to give you some indication of how well a person is doing, same as cs, they both are flawed but counting executes as deaths makes them even more flawed, because end of the day, as far as performance is concerned, an execute is closer to "did not die" than to "did die", that's all there is to it.
You can spam a "death is a death" all you want, that's not why kda is there, and executes(counting as deaths) only mislead on that accord.
Executes are deaths but not kills for the enemy team. You don't LOSE anything but time from any kind of death, so the only difference between a death to an enemy and a death by execute is how much the enemy team benefit. If you are killed, they gain gold whereas if you are executed, they don't. Hence, it is not counted as a kill for them. Very simple.

The reason kda is there is to give a sense of how well that person is doing, same as CS, sure, it's flawed and has it's problems, but counting executes as deaths makes said stat even more flawed, if you want to count things which are pointless how about replace kda with "highest chain of pings"/"number of pings"/"amount of circles you made by going in a circle", kda is there to represent something and counting executes goes against that.
You see, people take KDA too seriously as a measurement of how well one is doing. I could give you reasons why, but I'm sure you've heard them before. Furthermore, if you were to (foolishly) use KDA as a hard measure for how well you're doing, it won't be distorted by executes much. I wouldn't be surprised if you get only 1 every ten games. That isn't much to change your final and overall score.
Another thing to consider is that executes ARE bad for you. You lose time that could be spent cs'ing or getting kills.

As I've said "it's flawed and has it's problems.", but that is the one and only reason it's there to begin with.

As I've said "but counting executes as deaths makes said stat even more flawed", it won't make it perfect but it will make it better at what it's supposed to do, why not improve something at what it is supposed to do? Sure it's a minor improvement, but it's not like changing it will take years of coding.
Anyway, my biggest concern is how much support the op has for being a moron, his teammate is right, the fact people support something which is flat out wrong is what bothers me, not how much impact that has on anything(which is very little).
Another thing to consider is that executes ARE bad for you. You lose time that could be spent cs'ing or getting kills.
Have you ever seen your average execute? Sure some rare occasions are derps in the jungle, here are the more common ones:
Dives where you don't take damage/cc, your opponent loses cs, your wave is pushing anyway, and since your opponent is dead, objectives likely won't be taken, even if you survived the dive you would have to get to a safe spot and recall(due to being low), which wouldn't save you much time. Cases where you are being chased and can't escape, you run towards enemy towers, drawing enemies inside their base, making them miss cs exp and objective control, generally giving your team time to either take or put themselves in place to contest them, suicide singed was a thing for a reason, and he did more than just getting executed(as in dying). Sion cheesing buffs(you solo "invade" the enemy buff on top lane side, die to it, take it with your passive).
Your average execute(the way they generally play out that is) is generally a good play, with the time lost on death being compensated by wasting the time of enemies, but anyway, even if you want to argue that it's not that good, I'm pretty sure you know that an execute is much closer to "not a death" than an "actual death", and since k/d/a is supposed to be a measure of performance(flawed and blah blah blah) counting executes within it stands against its purpose, so might as well change that if anyone feels like it.
(but mostly op and everyone who upvoted him are idiots)
I honestly don't want to get into another online argument, I've had too many recently, but I'll say two things.
Please don't call OP a moron in memes and Games.
An execute involves you dying. Therefore, it is a death.
If someone else were to kindly argue in my place, that would be much appreciated.

Why, does that somehow make him not a moron?
- An execute involves you dying. Therefore, it is a death.
And a kill involves killing, therefor minion/monster kills should count towards your kills.
See, I can play stupid too, only difference is the word "play".
If someone else were to kindly argue in my place, that would be much appreciated.
No shortage of dimwits here, so good for you.
The idiocy brought me back for one more comment. Minion kills aren't counted as kills because only champion kills are. All kills have something in common (an enemy champion dies, you get gold and exp). Minion kills do not provide you with these things and therefore they do not count as kills.
In the same way, all deaths have the same thing in common: you die. Executes include dying. Therefore executes are deaths.

You shouldn't be that hard on yourself, I mean you're not wrong, but still.

Minion kills don't provide you gold? and their deaths don't provide you exp? and I thought we were too busy spamming "a death is a death and I don't care about implications" but now we are making exceptions?
Maybe you should be that hard on yourself.

See and killing minions and champion have the same thing in common: you kill something, minion kills include you killing things. Therefore minion kills are kills.
Ok, how about you look at it like this. KDA is a representation of your personal effect on champions in the game. Kills represent how many champions you have killed, deaths represent how many times your champion has died and assists symbolize how many champions you have helped kill. They all have that in common.

And who's to say that? All I see is the word "kill", now you are deciding that it's meant to be "champion kills"? who died and made you queen of england?
How about I decide that "Deaths" is now "Deaths to champions"? Why can you decide kills means "champion kills", but the notion of deaths meaning "deaths to champions" is suddenly completely out of question?
Just for you, I'm sure Rito would instill a tracking system of KDAH, "H" here being Humiliation. So good job, cause you're going 0-0-0-1

Unfortunately executes do a very poor job at indicating one's performance, so no point at keeping track of them in the k/d/a bar, maybe some stat at the end of the game nobody will bother checking.
I guess if they do this though they'd have to start you off each game with 0/0/0/1, considering the fool you are making of yourself of with this nonsense.
Here. I'll put it in a very simple way to help you understand why it's considered a death.
Is your screen gray? Is your health 0? You're most likely dead, regardless of how. I guess if I want to get touchy, compare it to murder and just killing yourself in your own house. The murder situation, the guy who killed you can get a benefit from taking things from you, and at the same time gets a bounty on his head (Like our shutdown mechanic.) Just doing it yourself alone still makes you did, but nobody can do anything about it.
And disclaimer: I'm not saying do it. Don't twist my words. I sadly have to say this before it happens.

See KDA appears a stat for a reason, counting executes as a death goes against said reason, I do realize for someone like you that would be something which is hard to understand, so I won't expect you to, I'm just gonna say that inbreeding is a bad idea and you shouldn't follow examples set by your family, you don't have to do it just because it's "mainstream" and "cool" within your household.
See, this is the problem. You don't know what a KDA is if you're saying it goes against it. Let me break it down.
Kills
Deaths
Assists
Notice how the second one is DEATHS? I wonder what happened when you hit 0 health to the turret. Are you saying the turret did not kill you?
If we put a Kill counter on the turret, would that make it easy for you? Would you understand it better? Because I'm assuming you think someone has to get a kill to give you the death, but technically the turret is getting the kill.

No, it's there to give a certain reflection of your performance.
Hell, why kills don't count creeps/monsters? Did they not die? Did they not get killed by you?
Let me guess, it's supposed to be "champion kills"? And yet all I see is the word "kills", hell let me repeat that:
Kills
Kills
Kills
So why don't they count monsters and creeps? clearly that stat is not working as intended, and if we consider a crazy notion that it actually means "champion kills", even though the word "champions" isn't written there(hence it's lunacy to consider such a thing, but let's maintain that notion for a moment), then why would such a thing even be there? To give some indication of how the player is doing? Heresy!
It's not like we could just see "Deaths" as "Deaths to champions", which would be basically the same thing, following the same insane idea that k/d/a is supposed to give some indication of performance.
But yeah I totally see it your way now, you people totally don't have your heads up your asses.
Lol This Guy ^
Lol This Guy ^
Yeah I'm not fucking clueless as to why KDA is appears on your screen to begin with, isn't that fucking hilarious?
Hahaha, haha, ha...
Your statement about KDA makes it sound like KDA is based only on Player vs. Player stats, and that jungle monsters, turrets, and minions don't or rather shouldn't have an effect on a player's KDA if they die to them. Understandably, if someone does happen to dive turrets and get executed, it counts as a death for you because you died. I don't see what the problem is, then, if your opponents get no Kill awarded for said death. Your point of minion kills being tracked under your actual KDA rather than your CS (which is already tracking this) is invalid. But if you wanna have a KDA for player vs. player and a separate KDA for player vs. minions/monsters, argue that. It's still pointless to track, but argue it, cause you seem to like doing that. You just seem mad that you can't turret dive and get executed with no penalty, other than a death timer.
Your statement about KDA makes it sound like KDA is based only on Player vs. Player stats,
No, my point is that K/D/A focusing on the pvp parts ends up with it giving some indication of how well that player is doing, which is what it's supposed to do, hence it should do that, which is the thing which is supposed to do, apparently this is too complex of an idea for these boards.

"Your argument is invalid because I said so", talking about hilarious, if "deaths" are "deaths" why aren't "kills" "kills"? if you insist so god damn hard about taking deaths literally why not take kills literally as well? Why shouldn't minion/monster kills count towards kills then? did they not get killed? were you not doing the killing of them? Your logic is so moronic even you are having trouble following it, even when this "logic" is "take everything literally with complete disregard to why it's there to begin with", well a kill is a kill, is it not?
But if you wanna have a KDA for player vs. player and a separate KDA for player vs. minions/monsters, argue that. It's still pointless to track, but argue it, cause you seem to like doing that. You just seem mad that you can't turret dive and get executed with no penalty, other than a death timer.
That's not what I'm arguing, I'm arguing K/D/A is there for a reason and that counting executes goes against that reason, just because you have to over-simply everything doesn't mean I do the same.
I understand WHAT and WHY you're arguing your point, and it makes a bit of sense, but to do something about it like have an extra stat for executes or separate KDA for minions/monsters is, in my own opinion, redundant. You're taking the "kills/champ kills, deaths/champ deaths, assists" a little too literally. No, they don't specifically say that, but if I'm going 2/1/2 as the jungler and run into the jungle to farm and die to golems, that should reflect my performance as a player, thereby putting me at 2/2/2. Nobody got a kill, but i spent time dead. Same goes for laners. If you get executed, it's a death. No, it's not a death dealt to you by another player, but it's a death. I know you're gonna say "But if that counts as a death, let's throw ALL kills of any kind in with KDA cause i wanna go 300/5/10." CS is already accounted for! I'm not making a fool of myself, cause most everyone in this board is agreeing with me.
Buhhh Mai KDA
That's why they are not considered a kill (the score for enemy team doesn't rise).
Still considered a death precisely because you spent time dead.
Did you die? Then you have a death
It should depend how strategic the execute was.
If you just died because you can't jungle then it counts as a death.
If you escape a gank by epically committing suicide you should be reincarnated [slayer-jinx-wink]
"Epically committing suicide"
Just no.
It's a game get over yourself, lol.
personally I would like something like kills/deaths/assists/executes
Since I run in to the problem where people flame me for feeding, when most of my deaths are executes.
(I can't jungle.)
Well they are still going to flame you if you die 6 times to red buff
Was it your jg?
Did they still kill the camp they died at?
