Victorious J4, an end-of-season-one reward
Wow they were really ugly before... ugly and scary. But, not all the outdated champs received and visual update... There is still champs as ugly as the old annie in 2015, so their model have 6 years old lol.

Gangplank's original iteration of Raise Morale used to require a target. He could target allied minions or monsters (Tibbers, Voidlings, etc.) and deal damage to them to activate his skill.
At the time he was the only champion in LoL who could "Deny", a technique used in some other MOBAs like DOTA 2 where you would deny your lane opponent gold and experience by killing the minion before they could. This led to Gangplank getting a HUGE exp advantage in single lanes where you could deny a minion (especially cannon minions) every wave.
You could also do some fun things with spell vamp as it dealt magic damage to your target and it dealt over 1000+ damage each time to ensure the minion was killled, regaining lots of health with spell vamp.
It made GP one of my favorite mid laners in season 1.
