I pretty much never ask for ganks when I play top. Sure, getting ganks are nice, but I always assume I am going to be alone.

I played a Tryndamere top. Told the team: Gonna win or lose this lane at level 2 (implying going HAM relying on a crit gamble). Our lovely (jungle?) allied Ivern gave me FB at 2:15. Which was followed our friendly Olaf (also with smite) coming to get me second blood. Enemy top was tilted all game and ran suicidally at me until she was 0/5. Loved that team.

TBH top lane has more snowball-y matchups than the other positions, so an early gank can mean more than others sometimes.

My personal favorite is when the jungler pings he is coming for a gank and ping him away. He then shows up anyways and get's sandwiched between my enemy laner and jungler feeding them a kill. Then he rages I didn't come to help. Or he comes and get's nothing out of it except pushing my wave and then I get ganked. I play Shen and Nasus Top lane predominately and all I can do is SMH...

TL:DR- I'd rather be alone.
