At least my dad gets it, since I managed to get him addicted to Hearthstone, which he plays every day several times a day.
It's gotten to the point where I have to wait for him to finish matches. Just the other day I asked him if I could show him some videos, and he was like "yeah let me finish here". He had some spreadsheets open, so I assumed it was work.
He stood up a few minutes later and I ask him if he's ready, "hang on let me finish this match" he says "I thought you were working." "I as playing Hearthstone".
Took my parents YEARS to understand that most games played online cannot be paused.
Well, Warcraft III could be paused, but each person had 3 pauses per game and anyone could unpause.
My parents understand you can't pause online games (and Dark Souls) they're only annoyed at how inconvenient it can be for them that I take an extra minute or so to do something because I'm in a League game. Better than it was when I played Dota a lot though, those games averaged about 40-60 minutes on end.
