He isn't actually drinking the bear, he's pouring it in his mouth and breathing outward to he doesn't get drunk and make mistakes. He is breathing through his nose to keep the beer from going up his nostrils.

It's against the rules to drink before preforming the moves they have to do. I forget where I learned he did the nose trick, he said he learned the hard way once.
