his gameplay just isn't rewarding to most players. Its also very awkward positioning his stars, since they don't line up with his AA range.

I don't find him boring. I think he's really fun to play, especially due to how limited his kit is in fights, how you overcome those limitations is the fun and challenging part of playing him.

Meh, I prefer to play someone with a more entertaining kit, easy or hard.

Even Teemo and Garen is simple and their's is more entertaining.

I find him extremely entertaining to play due to his kit being made in a way that makes you want to constantly roam around and fight people non-stop once you reach level 3

there isn't a boring phase of 'just farm and try not to fight'

I felt this way until the constant stream of nerfs that are even still trickling in now. Pros can make him work so they need to nerf him, but I'm not a pro and would rather play something better :[

I think I just have an uncanny level of skill with that champion, because i'm a plat 5 toplaner (S5) and I managed to go even in lane against a D2 midlane main who was playing ahri (which is a champ I tend to struggle against with my other mid champs, syndra and anivia) and i've crushed matchups like ekko and kassadin (which to me feel like they would be relatively hard)

so i'm not quite as concerned as most people seem to be about his nerfs

For me I can still perform fine (I take him jungle.) His lack of power is negated by his sheer map presence, as in he doesn't need power himself if he can constantly cause 2v1 fights in the form of ganks. It just feels so horrible knowing that if an enemy counter jungles you, there's nothing you can do really. And while I still do fine, for the same level of effort and skill, I could choose a different champion and have even better results.

I can't speak about his mid lane but I'd think it's the same; you CAN do good with him, but that's you being good and not the champion, as in choosing a better champion would have you do even better.

I mean, shyvana is one of my main toplaners and katarina/leona my main junglers, i guess I have a fascination for really bad champions :P (i used to love pre rework fiora and darius too because of their limitations as well)

I always wondered about his kit. From what I've seen, isn't it just mainly a matter of laidback positioning? Like, nothing compares to a more arrogant playstyle than letting something else do the work lol.

Pretty much. Q is stun so you can proc your stars W is a star modifier E is movespeed buff so you can position your stars R is a knockback to your stars.

That sums it up pretty well. I wonder why more people haven't played him...Maybe its because he's not engaging enough?...Meh i could see that being an issue.
