I find this happens more often when the person you stole the kill from still could have been outplayed and died instead.
Like they wanted to prove they could have gotten the kill 1v1 so they complain about it, even though from a neutral perspective they were 1/3 and the person they were dueling was 4/2 and whoever got their cooldowns back first was going to win (and you didn't see when they blew them so you have no idea).
Well, that and stolen Pentas. I kind of get that though. In ranked you actually have your Pentas recorded in stats. I've earned a couple pentas and had the 4th or 5th kill taken. No reason for it. One thing if I'm out of range and you didn't realize in the heat of the moment that I had flash up. Another entirely when you flash for a kill that I'm standing beside and am 1 auto away from finishing and I'm at nearly full health. Wouldn't complain about it personally, but I'd be a little salty IRL over it for a few minutes (basically, until we won the game).
I hate people who throw the "KS" bullshit at you. Especially if you're all attacking the same person
Kill stealing doesn't exist in this game. If the enemy is dead, they are not getting gold/Xp, therefore it doesn't matter who killed them
