To be fair, 70% reduction still means 30% goes through, a low hp ali would die just as fast (or even faster if he's too poor to buy defense yet) as a full hp squishy adc.

The next point is, if hitting the enemy ADC means going through their entire team, the ADC really does have no choice but to shoot the cow. Leave killing the squishies for your assassins.

That's what I thought as well. Sure, Vayne can melt Alistar even with his ult up, but she's still squishy and close-range, if the Alistar is any good he'll combo her. With any teammate following up and his own increased AD, Vayne would be toast.
