To be fair, 70% reduction still means 30% goes through, a low hp ali would die just as fast (or even faster if he's too poor to buy defense yet) as a full hp squishy adc.
The next point is, if hitting the enemy ADC means going through their entire team, the ADC really does have no choice but to shoot the cow. Leave killing the squishies for your assassins.
