I think this post is about those people who complain that something like Heimerdinger or Galio are OP just because they lost to them.

Zed Vladimir Chogath All overpowered. Yet all in fairly good spots thanks to gating. People throw around "OP" all the time as if it means anything more than a champ being slightly strong.

Zed isn't OP... when your entire combo is completely negated by one of the strongest and popular items in the game (zhonya) people just complain because they itemized like shit

Cho is an incredibly strong sleeper OP mid just no one plays him cause he's not super exciting or flashy, he's not in a good spot.

How the fuck is vlad gated? Vlad is another example of a champ thats incredibly strong in the meta but no one played him because his playstyle is very binary (spam q or all in with his combo) and not flashy like all the new champs.

If anything vlad is an example of one of the least gated champ in the game, he has no resources and low cooldowns on all his skills if you build him with half a brain

Zed is still an incredibly safe and reliable pick, even with his recent nerfs, a skilled player can work wonders with him. He's an example of overpowered done right.

Chogath is op in almost every position he takes. His only gating is massive mana costs early on and a lack of mobility.

Vladimir is gated early on by cooldowns and health costs. Granted later on these fall away and he becomes the monster he is meant to be.

Again, a lot of people use the term without full knowledge of what they are talking about. A Darius is op compared to most melee champs, same with Renekton . Granted, once you hop into the shoes of a good kiting marksman, you're suddenly not nearly as worried about these two as you once were.

CD arent a gating mechanism, mana is. That's like saying riven is gated because she has a CD on her Q lol

Late game you will never die and can do 2 full rotations with ult if you build zhonya with minimal or no counterplay because he's untargetable.

Actually, it is. Could you imagine a Lux ult without a cooldown? People don't consider cooldowns to be gating, but the fact is they are, they are the very basis of gating.

You said Cho was op mid, I'm saying he's op no matter where you take him. I've only run into a couple of match ups where Cho can't come out of lane ahead and they are few and rarely used.

Vlad is susceptible to lane bullies early on, champs like Cass and Karth make lane a headache for Vlad up until he starts to really scale.

Just because a champ can be countered doesn't mean they aren't overpowered. Overpowered means they do slightly better than they should given an even state in terms of gold and exp. Zed is a good example of this because he has so much burst potential, but he has to do things JUST right in order to pull it off. He's not only got to use his ult, but bork active and drop his shadow so he can hit them with the triple shuriken plus an auto and E, all while trying to avoid getting CC locked.

I'm not saying overpowered is bad, it's simply pointing out that different champs are slightly better off in a given meta or in certain situations due to how it buffs or nerfs them.
