Having worked for other people with my own business, the more people that have input into something the more people that will be unhappy and everyone thinks their own personal ideas they shit out are the best ones and if you don't use them get super upset. TBH I just don't like people especially considering they know less than the people doing the project and don't realize WHY their idea is bad and if you try to tell them act like spoiled children.

I've been saying this for years and I'll repeat it until I'm blue in the face: Riot needs to shut off their playerbase and only take feedback from the highest level (Masters+, with Diamond being an iffy). Then we can start to make some progress.

People don't know what they want, they just always want something and will never be happy. As much as I pick on Riot, they've done a pretty bang-up job with the trash they have to deal with.

That's a bad idea, the viewpoint is too small and too skewed.

I agree: League can't shut out community ideas and thoughts since Riot balances around pub play and pro play. Most of the suggestions on the board/Reddit are bad, but some of what the community has suggested before has been beneficial and even implemented by Riot.

looks at the success of Dota 2 looks back at LoL Looks back at Dota 2 You do realize pretty much every hero in Dota 2, save maybe a small handful of 5-10 at most, are picked in every tournament, right? And this is the balance model they use since the non-pro community has literally no idea what they're doing?

Ah yes so everyone who is not pro must be terrible at the game.

Dota 2 and League have very different characters

But, I mean... LoL is more successful.

Ive always been curious how dota executes that. Hard counters? Hard counters are terrible for LoL but i could see it being more tolerable in dota since pubs wont be able to execute them as well.

isn't dota pretty much just an items game?

like i've never played it but from what i've heard you can just buy tp? like srsly?

either way they have alot less characters too. so seeing more of them is obvious.

It doesn't matter if the non-pro community has literally no idea what they're doing when the VAST majority of players is in low Elo. ^ That's what matters. It doesn't matter if higher elo players know best when there's only a handful of them compared to everyone else.

You do realise Bronze-Silver MAKE this entire game. Go look up the distribution of players in each division and come back and try to say how it should be balanced around Masters (lol).

Don't get me wrong though, you are right. Most of the stuff the community and low elo players suggest/cry about is stupid. However, balancing a game around the elite players is completely stupid considering the game is mainly played by them low elo players. They HAVE to be catered for.

They can't balance it around high elo alone as it will destroy low elo. It's only logical. Good luck keeping the game running with no players after doing that.

That's a really bad idea. Riot should take criticism and our feedback into consideration but we should also have to understand what what we want Riot to do, may never exactly happen like we want it to happen. It's their game and we have a chance to influence the decision over the direction the game takes but to firmly believe that we can demand every change we want to be implemented is not what giving feedback means.

Woa, Masters consists of less than 0.1% of League's player base. Riot probably makes less then 0.001% of their profits from Masters+. No way isolated feedback from Masters+ players will provide all the desirable data, profit or player oriented,

DuskDaUmbreon2 votes

So then you'd be fucked up the ass by Yi and Garen suddenly hitting 80%+ win rates in low ELO because they were balanced based off of pro play.

It's like saying only a certain group in society should be able to vote... This is the dumbest shit I've read, sry.

You present a valid point though this doesn't always apply tbh. Generally you are right, though specifically we can pin point things that could have been done better or at least have had communications and feedback with. For example the flex queue.

Well I think this is a flawless idea for the most part. Play the gamemodes we actually want in the weekend rotations.

A story from my Dad's workplace, they had just replaced the Elevators with Smart Elevators, which are meant to save electricity by memorizing patterns and make routes to pick up X amount of people the fastest. Slightly complicated, but whatever, it's simple to use though. You press a floor button, a number flashes on the screen, and you head to the elevator that the number matches to get to your floor.

Despite having signs, actual attendants helping, and it being fairly simple, people hated it and wanted it stopped reverted. Doesn't matter if it was saving 66%(ish) electricity than the old ones, they just didn't want to learn this new system because they disliked it. They acted like they were owed, or deserved, the right to bring back the old ones, and these are adults.

Point being, sometimes a rough transition can still have beneficial results, but people are too stubborn in their ways to see them.

There are some totally reasonable suggestions that people have been making since forever. Yes, Rito implements some of them (e.g. muting pings), but some (like the "warded" ping) keep being ignored.
