Raising Awareness - Support Your Supports
Story time.
So, I was playing a 5 v. 5 on Summoner's Rift the other day with my friend's favorite champion, Soraka. As I'm sure most of you know, Soraka is a rather frail creature, who requires a loving, caring, and, most importantly, a supporting environment in order to grow to her fullest potential. Taking the bottom lane with Ashe (ironically enough, against Soraka and Ashe), we did pretty well at first; an ice arrow here, a star call there, everyone's a happy camper...
...Unfortunately, that's when things began to go south. Tragedy often strikes when we least expect it; such is the nature of League.
With things not going so well in the mid-lane and up top, the friendly Ashe decided that it might be a good idea to lend a helping hand.
"I won't be long."
"It'll only take a minute." * "Soraka will be fine on her own, she knows how to use the 'call for help' button."*
Soraka, however, would not be okay. Left alone to deal with Ashe, another Soraka, and the occasional Ezreal, the frailest, sweetest of star children was left to fend for herself for almost* the rest of the game*. She tried to run away. She tried to use the 'call for help' button; all, however, to no avail. I will spare the graphic details for those who are faint of heart. But fear not, friends; this story may have a happy ending, if you can find it within yourselves to join me in the campaign to 'Support Your Supports.'
After telling this story to my friends, one in particular made the analogy of 'leaving your child in the car with the window rolled up.' One shitty editing job on GIMP later, I give you the beginning of the 'Support Your Supports' campaign.
Please, friends; don't 'leave your support in the car, with the window rolled up.' Together, we can prevent the needless deaths of hundreds of supports each year.
think it's a good time to start backing.
