Look at the way the camera's moving, the incredibly still audience, the delayed drop of the mallet, etc. That's not a real auction, that's a clip from a TV show or movie.

I agree that its probably a show but its not impossible for what you said to happen irl. It could be recorded professionally. But now that I think about it are these things even allowed to be recorded?
