Him partnering well with it isn't the problem, but rather how he partners with it. It doesn't complement him, it just completely synergizes with him to make him have a permaslow.

You know what happened to skarner, lord of the permaslow? Yeah he doesn't have a permaslow anymore.

I gues the whole boomerang slow them from far away, close in, and never let them walk away isn't considered fun to play against. I wonder why?

not like he can shti on most toplaners by default or that he can farm safely in matchUps that he deosnt have kill preassure or that he can go full tank and still be a MEGA ( see what i did there ? ) threat to everyone . He is just getting naged on becuz of the shitty cleaver into mallet build that you legit cant do anything unless you can straight up kill him where he stands if you use ur rotation and you dont kill him you are dead regardless of ewhat you do.

LCS champs aren't picked because they are easy, they are picked because the are OP, broken, or both. The only time a balanced champ is picked is if the OP ones have been picked or banned or the player is incredibly good on them.

They are picked because they are necessary for whatever teamcomp a team is using or whatever would normally dumpster that champion isn't in the LCS meta..

I think that they are picked because they are OP/broken and then the team comp is built around that.

There are of course exceptions, but that is pretty much the rule.

Well, to be fair the LCS/Worlds teams use the best champions to get the win. They arent going to choose a "well balanced" champion unless they are forced to.

And a lot of times the champion is/was always strong. Its just that getting played by the pros make them popular and force them into the limelight. Its hard to complain about Top-Kennan when you face him 1/100 games. Its different if he is in half of them. On the flipside, some champions are in the limelight due to their popularity and strength, whether or not the pros use them - Riven, Zed and Yasuo come to mind. There will always be complaints about these champions until they get dumpstered. Then there are champions that are strong, arent played too much, and not used in the pros (Eve, Pantheon, Fiddle). The complains about these champions are far rarer.

Let us not forget Karma, who was powerful for bloody ages and was buffed at least twice before Lulu got nerfed, which forced Karma to be picked up for a similar niche. I'd say that she was in the last category you wrote down.

Not in solo queue, no.

But champions unlock higher strengths in competitive (but also have their weaknesses showcased that much harder). Varus is one of the best siege/poke champions in the game, especially midgame at 3 items - pair him with a Cait, Ezreal, or Jhin and you have a really nice poke comp. In competitive you dont have the problem of "We have 2 sieging champions but no disengage" or "We have 2 poke champs but Malphite keeps initating before we get any poke off". Vlad is probably more about the current Meta - he does well into Syndra by rushing early MR, and on top of that you can mitigate a lot of her ult damage with your pool (plus he does well again 2-3 AP comps cause he itemizes Spirit Visage and Abyssal so easily and early in he game).

Those two champions fall into a category i didnt mention - they are situationally strong. But because they really arent that strong outside of an well organized team, the complaints are rare. People just dont face enough good Varus or Vlad players, and when they do, they dont face them when they are surrounded by a team thats on the same page. In the rare cases that the champion's strengths are showcased in solo queue, the complaints do come in.

Remember when the juggernauts were broken and were played in the LCS? They only pick the best champs for the job, if they're pick or ban status that probably means something, and it's also clear that Rylai's is broken on some champs as well.
