My main roles are top/mid/jungle, and I'm stupidly proficient in jungle. I can beat out low Diamonds in Ranked with my Jungle, and with over 6000 games played of League, I think I have enough experience to say...
Flare is stupid.
It really is. It was a great concept for Tryn/Yi Jungle, but it's stupid otherwise. Note I said concept, not actuality. It's good in theory for farm-heavy junglers, in actuality the item is pretty toxic in design.
Laners aren't "babied" for expecting ganks, your job is to have pressure as a jungler, period, end of story. If you're farming a flare you better DAMN well have some good late game pressure EVERY single game. As a jungle main I honestly think it's one of the biggest bullshit items in the game, as every single jungler who fails with it then goes "Well, woulda won that game if my team held their own."
No, what that means is if your team triple-quadruple warded to eliminate any ganks whatsoever that puts them in a spot they can't recover from, didn't get coordinated in a tower dive against them, and put up with a lot less pressure, then maybe, maybe you might be noticeably strong enough to have a bit more carry potential.
I hate the item.
There are some people who manage to have good pressure with it, who help their team take towers, make a few very decisive ganks, who absolutely control Dragon and Baron, and those people are awesome, but they are few and far between.
Making League a PvE game because you hate interaction doesn't suddenly mean you can blame your team because everyone else is PvP'ing.
