Let's build our village at the base of a mountain or plateau or whatever you want to call it that has a cool altar on top of it.

Let's keep the key to this altar down 4 miles of steps, instead of storing it at the top near the altar with a guard.

In case of invasion, let's all let the old guy take the stone key thing to the top by himself and everyone else stand a the bottom of the stairs where they can easily be surrounded.

It does makes sense in a way. But something tells me that it is not. Otherwise it would be really pretty stupid.

And on top of having the Fire nation attack, this poor village has their special rock stolen! The thief wasn't even fighting for it, he just kinda ran in and took it in the chaos!

from what I saw: Rock is super important Rock apparently can not only vaporize a guy, but apparently it can cut a mountain in half Rock is apparently being seeked by the army (noxians? the axe is the only thing that makes me think that they were noxians) army probably intended to use the rock's destructive powers for malignant purposes seeing as how they were basically slaughtering everyone in their way to get to it (or at least that one guy was slapping everyone out of his way). Bard apparently doesn't want the army to rule the world using the vaporization rock so he helped to deliver the rock to the top of the altar to send it away from the bad guys. Which was the original objective of the old man who had the many arrows puncturing his body (who died about half way up the mountain).

I get the idea that the fact that the stone was used at all made Bard intervene. The gif you have is when the old guy uses the orb on a soldier; before that Bard had no interest in the happenings there. What I am saying is this: Bard don't care who has the rock, so long as nobody uses the rock.

Also that old guy said something about "we will die without [the rock]," which gives me the idea that he certainly didn't want the rock taken away. Basically, Bard helps nobody but keeps the artifacts in check.

Well he is doing a favor to all by making sure those artifacts wont be used or at least not to be tampered with as much. I mean that is what I'm imagining.

But to be honest I only did this thread out of silliness yet there are people talking seriously about what happened in the video. Then again that is a hot topic right now. I am quite interested! @_@;;

The old guy may not have been trying to send the stone away, he could have been trying to use it at the alter to do something to the invading soldiers, teleport them maybe or just plain vaporize them like he did to that one soldier
