Biggest Beginner Mistakes?

A long time ago, when I first started getting into League, I was garbage as per the norm, but one mistake really took the cake on my list of beginner mess ups. Fresh off of buying Ashe for my first champion (Ashe). I had enough Influence Points to buy whatever champion I wanted. So my 2nd choice? Arguably one of the hardest champions to play as. Zed. I picked freaking Zed before I was even in Bronze. So my question to you is, What beginner mistakes have you made that you have looked back on and realized were awful?

Using summoner spells unnecessarily. Like using heal when you're safe and at 50% instead of using it to bait, or using ignite as harass.

Only buying Health Potions and Mana Potions. Not even kidding, I didn't know what AD, AP or Tank was. I also had no clue what items did and how much they affected the game. I thought "hey, this gives you health back, why shouldn't I buy this. Every back I would get them. End game results, if you look at my build I would get Health Pots, Mana Pots, Recommended starting item and a trinket (~~and since I bought a trinket I'm better than 99% of the bronze/silver* players~~) Once I reached level 15, I realized I should actually build these things called items =.=

*I'm silver too so

Citing postgame numbers, particularly the K and A part of things, when you lose, as if they actually matter.

Gotta grow up from that.

I bought the beginner bundle with RP right out of the gates, which landed me with a handful of champions that I don't like to play and blown RP on champions that I could have earned IP for far too early. Instant regret.

Honestly, I don't think new players--or any players, for that matter--should be buying champions with RP. Buying with IP gives you time to study the last champion you bought and spend quality time learning them rather than mindlessly fleshing out your champion pool.

The first champion I bought was Pantheon, who I completely failed with because he had a big red shield that led me to believe that he would be incredibly tanky. Obviously this is not the case, and I don't think I played more than two games with him before blowing some RP on Wukong because I had decided that I made a bum purchase. If i had waited until I earned the money, I would have spent the time to really understand the champion--and really, would have understood assassins as a whole--much better than i did. New players are just too focused on finding their 'main' and not focused enough on learning the game and the roles.

Also, nobody explains AD/AP. So I played Ravenous Hydra Nunu. Every time. And Trinity Force ofc, because it was the most expensive at the time and therefore obviously the strongest item in the game. So everybody got a trinity no matter who I played.

Buying Nocturne at level 10 and thinking he was better bot lane than any other lane.

Duo with my silver friends in levels 6-30. Actually helped me in the end since I almost got gold at the end of the season. I started in preseason 5 so not too shabby if i do say so myself.

Once upon a time, bots actually did shit and it was entirely possible to lose to them.

I sucked so bad at the game that I only ever played bots up to level 30.

I lost more games to those things than I can even begin to remember.

Riot probably would have made money off "I Survived Annie Bot" t-shirts.

But I recall one particularly bad game in which our team consistently died to miss fortune bot to the point that she got so fed we could do nothing to stop her from destroying our base. I thought "OMG MF OP WTF" and decided to buy her based on that one game.

Blundered into Anivia pretty early, didn't quite understand the concept between AD or AP and their effects on skills and which champions need which. All I could think of was "Damn she attacks so slowly" buys zerk greaves and AS items

First buying item 1055 on Sejuani , buying my first ward around level 20 and placing it on our nexus, 1v1'ing dragon at level 4 with Soraka , I could keep going but this is getting really embarrassing.
