People forget that mid-laners aren't entitled to blue buff and their junglers aren't obligated to give it to them.
You should be able to go through mid-lane without having a single blue buff; blue buff is a privilege and a boost to your power, it is not the secretly missing part of your kit.

No matter who I take mid I always forget that blue buff exists.

If I have a Lucian ADC I actually like giving it to him, Blue is deceptively strong on him, especially since he no longer builds essence reaver

Early-mid yeah. Late game? 15% bonus AP adds on quite nicely to Inferno and Deathcap
Mean while the jungler is like: "Fuck fuck fuck, why did I smite gromp? NO! GET AWAY! THIS IS MY FUCKING BLUE BUFF!"
One time the Mid lane and top were not mana users or AP and I didn't really need it. So I told the support to come grab it and they were just in utter shock about it
i mostly play 
in the jungle and i get super pissed when an ad mid laner takes my blue buff. i only give blue buff away to a hard carry

The only time i grab the blue buff is if its the enemies blue camp. Ive turned down the junglers offer for it more times than i can count. The only time ill take our buff is if its late game and i need the mana to siege.
