It's kinda hard to respond to this because pipe is an ambiguous noun. That being said if you took something and made modifications to it to have a different purpose and used it for that purpose, then that is changing what it is.

Things like cups are determined partially by function, usage, and intended use. If a pipe is changed, modified, or designed to function as a cup, and the user uses it as a cup, then yes - for all intents and purposes, it is a cup.

If Ekko's clockhand is designed similar to a bat, fufills the purpose of a bat, and he uses it like a bat, then yes - it is a bat. While calling it a bat severely undermines its potential, but it isnt wrong. Its like calling Iron Man's suit a piece of armor, or Mjolnir a hammer.

I would say yes. In function at least, my shirt fufils the same functions of a towel. So if you use my shirt as a towel, isnt it a towel for you?

Its even clearer if you modify it to function better as a towel - if you cut up my shirt into a rectangular piece with all the frills and stuff of a towel, isnt it no longer a shirt?

It seems like Ekko took the clockhand off of a clock. Its a piece of a clock if it no longer functions as a time-telling device, being used as a bat. For all intents and purposes, its a bat. If you called it, "Ekko's Clock-hand," players without knowledge of its origin would be confused. However, if you call it, "Ekko's Bat," everybody who played as/against Ekko would know that youre referring to his weapon.

I have I know he is an enemy of the flash, I think. But being hit with a boomerang isnt going to hurt as much if it is just made of bone compared to a gun or sword.

Yes I know, but you have to know how to throw them properly. I spent some time throwing cards with one of my college friends to see how far we could throw them. Twisted Fate is not the only one to have weaponized cards lol Kiba from yu-gi-oh! also weaponized cards. I am not going to look up how old that show is cause I do not want to feel old lol.
