What games did you play before League?

I was aimless walking around my job, texting my friends and I randomly asked what they did before they started playing League of Legends, cause I know personally, I played Xbox and Baseball (irl) but since I found League I haven't done either. Which got me thinking on a bigger scale, what did EVERYONE do before they found league? For me, league and video games is more than a hobby, it's a passion. I was projected to go to college off a baseball scolarship, but I realized I wasn't happy doing this. So I somehow came across League of Legends, and other games like Runescape - amidst all the games I played I found happiness in entertainment (i.e. Making videos/streaming) so I started to do that and now here I am :D

Tl;dr What did you do before league, or even how has it impacted your life if so?

Pokemon The Legend of Zelda Ace Attorney Fire Emblem and a number of minor things

However, seeing as my access to League is massively limited, I play those more.

I use to play Jedi Knight Academy and a lot of Maplestory. Maplestory I started back in like..a year or 2 before the big bang when everything changed. Then a good time later I learned some about League from my ex and was mostly forced to support. Despite those times, even now I really love this game even though I am not the best. This, Maplestory, and Hearthstone are like my favorite online games. I actually have spent more money on League than in all my years of playing Maplestory...<.<

Wow I started with oregan trail and played a boat load on Nes, Shit ton on Snes, some Sega, crap ton of N64, got into lots of rpgs on PlayStation, Xbox halo1-Reach and 4 (they lost my interest after that) Computer gamed some cult classics

I used to play Xbox 360 and work on cars before League. Then one of my cars that I had changed the timing belt on twice already (transverse engine layout so timing belt is even more of a pain in the ass than it already is) blew it's engine and the replacement costs $4000 dollars, so I gave up on working on cars because I hate spending money. As a result I started playing League all day and now i'm addicted to it and it's ruining my life.

I still play them.

Command and Conquer. Castlevania. Pokemon. Call of Duty. Halo. Godzilla. Final Fantasy. Galactic Civilizations. Legend of Zelda. Fire Emblem. Mega Man. Fallout. X-com. Stronghold. Stronghold Crusader. The Sims. Etc. Etc. Etc.

And a couple others I can't seem to remember off the top of my head.

(EDIT): updated with ones I managed to remember after looking at what games I currently own and remembered which ones I don't. (I don't keep games I don't play anymore)

This is awesome seeing where everyone came from! :D Thank you all for commenting and giving me some insight, it's cool to think that even though we don't all have the same taste when it comes to games, we all eventually have that one game that connects us, League of Legends ;p <3

Honestly? I don't fucking know. I started playing probably at least 2 years ago and I have no idea what I even did before that.

I remember I was on this video game related meme site called Haloz (rest its virtual soul) and league of legends posts kept popping up. Eventually I got curious enough to try it out. Before this I played mostly games that you could: a) customize/ make your own character b) some form of hack and slash or fighting game c) shooters (I am ashamed but call of duty and halo were on that list .__.) I think part of the draw was that the characters each are unique with their own abilities and that it was like riot set rules for their champs, but constantly found new and creative ways to bend them. I think the first time I actually saw something league related was an Inception meme with LeeSin and Annie asking him if he saw tibbers.

My first computer game was Pettson and Findus 2 I think. That was one of my favorite games ever. Other games include

Earth 2150: Lost Souls
Age of Empires 1 (<3)
Anno 1503
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2
Minecraft (surprise)
Dragon Age 2 (PC) and Inquisition (PS4)
Flyff (this game was really good once)
Titan Quest
Settlers 4 and 5

and finally the sole contender to League: DotA2 which I still love because it was my first MOBA and MOBAs are so good. Still playing it once in a while.

Before League of legends i was playing mostly Dota 1 and WoW. I started playing dota 1 in 2004 , and buyed the warcraft 3 game to play the mod. One day when i was kinda bored i tried out the actual game(campaign) and i fell in love with Warcraft. Then WoW came into play and damn i was hooked. I still continued to play Dota which was becoming more popular and at the time Garena was a huge social thing as well. But over time Dota became... outdated in my eyes. And lol came to play. New graphics, new moba, Different heros, different mecanics.

And i sticked with LoL. While i did play Dota 2. it was not much, The league's creative community, the league's communication and caring was far better that kept me interested in lol.

But WoW is still my main game while LoL being my plan B.
