and yet every time i die to him people are surprised... its like uh its fucking Darius, he can dive me and heal an entire turret shot, plus i need to deal significantly more damage thanks to the heal, and on the off chance i win i still need to survive his bleed which he surely has at least 3 stacks of on me...

DARIUS CAN AND MOST LIKELY WILL KILL YOU AT LEVEL 2... staying under the turret does not make you safe and going within AA range of minions is asking for death. Do what i do...

I say the same thing about riven and her diving, stunning you, then shielding all turret damage. they just sit there and tell me to hit her under the turret... while I'm stunned apparently -__-

huh, didn't realise till now but with that parry ability the way it is now and her weak point finding passive thing (including her ult since it uses the same mechanic more or less) , she is definitely a good option vs Riven
