You could reverse this for when they don't ping danger until after you're half dead.

I ping quite often, but never more than twice. If I notice someone in the river, I ping danger even if everyone can see it because of a ward. If someone is gone for more than a few seconds, I ping missing. It doesn't matter if they're warding or if they're just hanging back in of fog of war. It's a lot faster than typing, though I do type sometimes if I feel someone hasn't seen my pings.
One time I was mid against an Ahri and she went missing so I pinged. I noticed her in the river heading top and pinged that and typed "Ahri heading top." Meanwhile:
Double Kill
When somebody pings danger because there's a dude standing on your own ward, but then pings 10 more times and you get ganked in the middle of writing "shut up" in the chat.
I'm not sure who's at fault here. The dude that pinged, myself because I was using the chat or Riot for being douchebags for not letting me mute pings of that asshole.
MIA pings are great and all, but I try to survive by the simple act of... watching my own mini map.
Laning is a frustrating phase, full of ups and downs, and it requires a lot of concentration... but take a moment to look at your freaking map for yourself and say "where did the 6/0 darius go? and could he be in my top side brush?"
or better yet, when you are shoving your lane, harassing your opponent(s) and having a grand old time, but forgetting to place wards because you are too busy farming and being amazing... please take a moment to look at the map and say "is the enemy jungler ganking another lane? could he be ganking mine in the next 2 seconds?" If you are unsure about it.......
