"Wukong, we have no other frontline besides you, please engage for our team"
Don't be a dick.
He's not a tank. He has no CC aside from his ult knocking up each enemy one time. Sure, build Juggernaut if everyone decided to go squishy for some reason, but building no damage on Wukong just does more harm then good.

While tanks do have CC, the main role of the tank is to take damage for the team. That's it. Not constantly CC someone, where did you get that idea? Tanks just come with CC to give them a little help in teamfights. And besides, Wukong has his 5 man knockup which does damage over time, that's a pretty decent CC right there, allowing your team who has damage to fight the enemy.
If he doesn't build any damage, that Ult will not do much damage at all with no damage items. that knock up is good, but it's not going to do much to keep the enemy from ignoring Wukong to get to the squishy champs in the back, then proceed to kill Wukong cause he can't do enough damage to fend them off.
Part of what makes a tank a tank is that they can CC the enemy and prevent them from making it to the back line, thus making them a threat in a way that doesn't involve damage. If a tank doesn't have CC, then they have some form of protection mechanic to keep the squishes safe, something else Wukong does not have. As a diver actually falls into the category of damage dealer FAR more then he does tank. If the issue is engaging, then that's a different problem since that is something Wukong is made to do, but he needs SOME damage to be a threat. Even if it's just
and
.
The better idea would be during champ select, have someone pick a tank who is ACTUALLY made to tank, and have them tank instead of having a champ who is a damage dealer to all the tanking. hell, there are Tanks that can go Mid, Jungle, Support (and Top depending on where Wukong goes). There is no reason to handicap a champ in a way that will end up just hurting everyone on the team cause everyone else on the team didn't plan better.
I'm with Kriske on this one. If you don't have a tank, Wu's damage won't matter. If you want to win, you need to do what it takes to improve the team. Let someone else build damage. Lord knows there's zero shortage of that.
Again, he doesn't have the ability to tank well. forcing him to go full tank is just going to do more harm then good. He needs to be a threat to some degree in order to get people to focus him. Tanks do it with CC and unreliable high damage abilities. Juggernauts do it by having high damage and being able to charge through the enemy line to get to the squishy champs in back, some of which have CC to a lesser degree. A Diver's weakness is when they get focused on before they can get their damage off. going full tank is both removing the damage aspect and the reason Wukong would even get focused on. Going full tank isn't going to improve the team, it's just going to give the other team one less person to worry about.
"He doesn't have the ability to tank well" Well, when you build damage he can't very well do that can he and as I said, the damage from his knock up doesn't matter as long as he can be a frontline for his team to do actual damage.
The CC isn't enough to make him a threat to get focused on. it's one knock up. one. to actualy be a tank, he needs to give the enemy team a reason to get focused on, which you keep dodging the point on.
on top of that, it is very easy for him to get tanky AND do damage. even building something like
gives him the damage he needs to remain a threat and still be tanky enough to take the hits from the enemy team.
He gets nearly 3000 HP, he gets almost 300 AD, against a full team, he gets 250+ armor and 270+ MR, He gets 30% reduced damage from DD, a revive from GA, reduced CC from treads and reduces the enemy MR and Armor from BC and Abyssal. All of that literally lets him be tanky without loosing out on damage.
building him full tank is just making him lose out on the only reason the enemy team would ignore the squishy enemies to focus him to begin with.
I mostly just do ARAM and specials and I totally agree with you. In aram I have often gone tank with non-tank champs. Sometimes this works. I can make tank-kennen scary. But wu just doesn't have cc, 1 short knock up is not enough cc. not even close. I have tried so many times, but if you get tanky, you just get busted because the insane damage that is LoL now. You need the cc to stop enemy damage. knocking someone up and then sitting on them in melee range for several more seconds while not doing cc and not doing damage is absolutely pointless. You will die, you will not help team. wu needs damage. he does fine with bruiser stuff as masteries and passive can give him the armor/mr buffs.
tanks are known for CC and Durability.
If they have just durability then they can just be ignored. Tanks are known to be a CC threat as Adcs are known to be a damage threat.
I literally just said his ult is all the CC he needs.
While tanks do have CC, the main role of the tank is to take damage for the team. That's it. Not constantly CC someone, where did you get that idea?
isn't this what you said.
says hi.
I never targeted Wukong and his CC, I am talking about your former statement.
