Just because he is famous doesn't mean he should be allowed to tell someone to kill themselves, trolling or not, they are both in the wrong however.
For the thousandth time, he told someone they should get gunned down. A 5 day suspension was generous.
"Care" do not spell the same as "special treatment".
If one is being toxic, he/she gets punished. Simple as that.
He's toxic, so he deserved a ban. That's it.

Watch the video, and pay attention to the bottom left of the screen. You can see that he is already chat restricted, meaning he was already a toxic fuck before he queued with the feeding Malphite. So stop being a fanboy and let your hero take the ban already. I mean, it's not even a permaban for crying out loud.

Yes, they do care about the community. And they banned him because he was out of line with what's acceptable to the community.
