Player-Created Officially-Highlighted Lore--A Possibility?
I wonder if it would be possible to get official sanction or at least official highlight for a player-run site for League lore. The idea would be that an Admin committee of trusted players would choose the best material out of player submissions and that would become canonical. The submissions would be private until they are either accepted and placed in a publication based on the style of the JoJ, deferred to a "other submissions" folder that is an archive of player submissions, or removed altogether in the case of profane, offensive, or off-topic material. The League has dedicated enough summoners who could take on administrative tasks, and a large enough player base that I believe they could scrape together a weekly publication from the submissions.
Players would submit full story ideas that carry over publications (with the understanding that contributors would not reveal the story until the publication was through), ideas for continuations of an ongoing event (like the battles of a larger Noxian incursion), and one-off small stories.
This would ideally solve the fact that despite gaining League entrance in order to gain influence with summoners, champions don't seem to get any closer to the their goals. Under this idea, would Lucian get his wife back? Probably not, since he would then leave the League, his mission accomplished. But Xerath could escape and have to be subdued by a top-secret rivalries-suspended Demacian-Noxian NAP, and that could make for a great story. Then, since he's recaptured, Xerath gets to stay in the league, building up his influence behind the scenes for another attempt at freedom and ultimate power.
Am I being idealistic? Is this a tenable proposition?
If people like this idea (i.e. if it gets upvotes), could we get an official comment about the project's feasiblity?
And lastly, are any people interested in masterminding the project? Writing for it? Deciding canon (like a newspaper editor, but for a fantasy realm)?
