I wrote a story about Graves and Ahri
First time posting here. I just wanted to write this because it was constantly on my mind yesterday. Hope you enjoy.
It was a breezy evening.
All the champion at the institute were relaxed. Some went to pursue their scientific interests, some went to hone their skills, or some went to have a little drink….
Malcom Graves was casually puffing his cigar while mending his gun, Destiny. He had joined the league to pay his due to Twisted Fate, his former ally. However, he recently found out that any physical conflict between champions outside the Institute of War is prohibited and it could land him in jail again.
He slammed the wooden mahogany table. “God damn it”, he muttered to himself. Today was just not his day. He came here to solve his problem, not to delay it. He plucked his cigar out of his mouth and gently pushed it on the ashtray. He quickly glanced around his surroundings. There were only a few outcasts: the exiled Noxian girl, the talking armadillo, and the two policewomen, who were discussing something. Vi stared at him back.
“What are ya looking at old man?”
“Nothing.” Malcom tersely replied. He didn’t want to argue with the stupid gauntlet girl again.
“Yea that’s what I thought.” Vi said harshly.
“Watch your mouth you dyke. One day when you retire from the league, I’m going to put a bullet behind your back. That ought to teach you a lesson.”
“What did you just say to me, you old scum? You know if the league didn’t protect you, I would have already punched your teeth out and smashed your face against the prison cell.”
“Vi, Vi. Calm down. Calm down. Let’s go outside to get some fresh air shall we?” Caitlyn calmly replied. She didn’t want to argue with the outlaw either. She had plenty of other ones to catch, not the one in front of her.
Vi steamed outside, muttering to herself about how she was going to brutally beat that old man in the next match.
Malcom shook his head and took another cigar from his shirt pocket. He was wearing a long blue shirt with his sleeves rolled up even though the weather wasn’t that cold.
“Gragas!” he shouted. “Get me a glass of whiskey.”
“Aye, Malcom. The usual?” the fat man asked.
“Yeah that strong one.” Graves replied while puffing his cigar.
Suddenly, he heard small footsteps behind him. He slowly turned around, finding the sly nine-tailed fox walking gracefully to him.
“Oh Graves.” she said sarcastically, “Did you have an argument with Vi again? “
“Yes my darling. As usual.” He said casually. He put his cigar out because Ahri never liked to see him smoke.
“Old man, you never change.” She said as she sat on the chair beside him. Then, she rested her chin on her arms and lazily dropped her fox ears. Ahri has always felt comfortable near Graves. He was a poor man; betrayed by his partner and had to rot a long time in the cells. Even here in league, he only knew a few people and usually spent his time alone.
“Here ya go pal.” Gragas said, slamming a mug down on the table.
Malcom grabbed the mug and started to slowly drink. Ahri grabbed his hand.
“You know darling, the booze won’t solve your problems.” She said in a slightly concerned voice.
“Oh what can be sweeter than a bit of alcohol?” said Graves with a slight chuckle.
“This”
Ahri kissed Graves in the lips, exploring his mouth with her tongue and slightly exhanging their fluids. After what seemed like eons, they broke.
“Um, alright my dear. I think I’m done drinkin’ tonight.”
As Malcom started to put his coat on, Ahri grabbed his arm.
“Hold on. Before you go, just spend time with me at the fireplace will you?”
“Alright, alright.” Malcom complied. They exited the bar and went to outside bon fire. It was an eternal flame made by the summoners and the fire child to illuminate the center hall of the Institute. It was also a common hangout pace for champions. There were already a handful of people there: Annie roasting some sausages with her friend Amumu, Quinn sketching her bird in her notebook, and Sona gracefully playing her ethwal to soothe everyone’s mood. Many seemed to have a good time.
Ahri lead Malcom by his arm and they both sat down on a seat just for two. She grabbed Grave’s hand. They didn’t talk for a while. They didn’t need to; they just needed each other’s presence. The warm air, the twinkling stars, and the occasional laughter have made Graves forget about his revenge.
‘Maybe’ he thought, ‘I just need to enjoy life a bit more.’
Ahri moved closer to him and started to draw circles on his lap, a weird habit that she picked up as she started spend time more with Graves. After a long moment of silence, Ahri finally opened her mouth.
“Someday Graves when we both retire, we should visit the woods in Ionia. I can show you the beautiful creeks, rivers, and birds. The market is full of exotic things and bustles with people. We could live together in a house on top of a hill that overlooks the landscape of Ionia.” Ahri spoke softly.
“Sure darling.” Malcom said reassuringly as he rubbed her fox ears “Someday, someday.”
