Champion Event Voices

If champions would say when they got a kill it would be pretty amazing like Elise saying "First Blood" and after FB it would say "I have slain a enemy" and on death she'd say "I have fallen"Elise

Ooh, I actually have some relevant knowledge here! Woo!

I get to participate in some of the VO meetings, (even though I'm not on that team - they're cool like that) and I've heard about some of the problems they have with the announcer talking over champion lines.

For example - if Elise had a "First Blood" comment, it would be triggered at the same time the announcer voice said "First Blood". Now, either we play them both at the same time (which would sound really cacophonous/noisy) or we have to delay one of them until the first one has finished. We'd get:

Announcer: "First blood!" ... ... Elise: "First blood!"

Which would sound sort of weird.

Lastly, the other option would be to locally suppress the announcer voice IF the champion had a line appropriate for the event - but from what I've heard, the announcer voices and the champion voices don't really 'know what the other is doing', code-wise.

Of course, the tech may change in the future and maybe we'll be able to do that, but as of a month ago or so, I was told there wasn't a robust and safe way of doing that. I suspect it's not high on the programming priority list, compared to lots of other things. :)

(I'm always tempted to suggest lines for when a champion has killed another champion - because that's a big event you'd want a champ to talk about! Unfortunately, most deaths happen in the middle of crazy team fights when you're probably fighting for your life (i.e. don't want to be distracted) and also there's a good chance that the announcer is about to say "Double kill!" or "Shutdown" or even the wonderful "Pentakill!" Too much going on, usually.)
