Jurassic/Scuba Quinn and Valor [Art]

Last night, I sketched up a couple skin ideas for Quinn and Valor.

Jurassic Quinn - Quinn dressed like a Jurassic Park ranger with some kind of tazer or tranquilizer dart gun. Valor is a Pterodactyl.

Scuba Quinn - Quinn in a wetsuit and flippers with a mini-harpoon gun. Valor is a Stingray.

Wow, love those illustrations! I think having a pet pterodactyl would be awesome, so that really appeals to me. Also flying around as a 200% move speed stingray would be REALLY cool.

These are seriously cool! I love your art style too.

I'm not completely sold on Jurassic Quinn, though. A pet pterodactyl would be amazing, but the rest of her feels kind of...lacking, almost. Valor ties into the whole Jurassic theme, but Quinn herself could just as easily be a safari guide or a spelunker with the simple addition of a head-lamp. That's a problem, especially considering that you'll be seeing Quinn more often than Valor in-game.

Scuba is a lot better, because then you have a concept that carries even if you disregard Valor; you've got the harpoon, the mask, the wetsuit. It's undeniably scuba or deep sea. And everyone has a weakness for giant sting-rays. That's pretty much a universal constant. :p Oh, and bubbles.

Also, while this isn't necessarily about the skins, I love your attention to detail in your art! It's almost like you adapted your shapes to better fit the concept of your skins! You've got a lot of sharp edges in your Jurassic but in your Scuba you adapted to "noodle arms" (which actually work with your art as opposed to actual anatomical errors) and curves that just fit. I can't explain why I love it so much. Just comparing side by side and noticing those little differences just gives me a giddy feeling because it's just so great that you did that, intentionally or not! I mean, damn son. That's awesome.

You picked up the noodle arms vs elbows! Yes, that was mostly intentional. I drew these two at separate times. Noodle limbs worked well for Scuba, but then when I came back and drew Jurassic, it didn't feel right, so I changed the style up a bit.

And yeah, I can definitely agree with the Jurassic Quinn not being anything special without Valor. She's really close to Safari Caitlyn. The alternative was a Cavewoman Quinn with a slingshot or something, but that's not particularly exciting, either. Would probably look like Nidalee. I went with the park ranger outfit, hoping that people could make the connection to the Jurassic Park movies. If people aren't familiar with that, though, the skin doesn't make as much sense. I mostly just like the idea of Valor being a dinosaur.

These concepts are great, but the Jurassic series are meant for the Void champions, I think.
