[Prologue] Mona & Kor'this - Daughter & Monster
This is the prologue of Mona & Kor'this.
**The story of Mona & Kor'this began long ago before Mona was even born. **
Voidborns travel through worlds and even to Runeterra. Many of them are weak and small, but they devour the new world as if it is their right to do. With each feast and each victim, they grow to something bigger that not even mankind could ever reach by its technology.
But not everything that comes from the void is automatically weak and thirsts for new powers. Kor'this, a voidborn from the very first time of the existence of the void, was raised by himself and he fought against his rivals within his dimension. He grew strong and in the end he was the one who ruled the void. Unbelievable strong and brutal compared to his kind, he was strong enough to open a portal through Valoran. His loneliness was great and he was seeking for stronger and deadlier challengers.
Unaware about the other worlds, he travelled through and left the void in its chaos, without any leading hand. And so there began a war within the void, where only the strongest and fastest could win. Devouring everyone inside, the fewest survived and became the strongest ones. After a very long war, noone could strike as the winner of this endless confrontation. The void was divided, every one of the strongest voidborns had their own place to rule and the balance was somehow, for the moment, regained.
As Kor'this arrived on Valoran, he was confused and weakened by the climate and a great amount of his strength was used to open the portal. The arrival point was nothing than a ruin surrounded by stones and sand. He recognized that he had to continue with devouring to further live in this world and stay in it. So he began to travel. Unfortunately, he had to go through a desert.
On the journey through the cruelly hot desert, Kor'this stumbled on the ground and somehow he couldnt stand up. As hope seemed to be lost, Kor'this saw travelling nomads at the horizon. Like a miracle, Kor'this stood up and with one single jump, he reached the nomads within seconds. The thoughts and expectations of devouring again gave him enough power to stand up. Kor'this jumped right into them, devouring all twelve nomads and some small animals.
But it wasnt enough. Kor'this wasnt satisfied and even more, those little nomads gave him not enough power. A slight scream came up from the wagons and Kor'this opened the wagon and saw a little baby screaming. Kor'this knew that consuming this baby would cost him more power than he would regain by devouring it.
Kor'this was at his end of life. He layed down near the baby and looked at it for a long time. Then he saw another group of nomads and that they were coming to his location. Kor'this knew that he wouldnt get out of this nightmare and he cursed himself in regret, because he immediately understood that his greedyness destroyed everything that he had built up in his life.
Kor'this learned at his young years a ancient ritual, that he may morph himself into a object or a other person who's not possessed by the void or connected with it. But the baby was too small as it would have killed the baby with Kor'this together. While the nomads were coming closer and closer, Kor'this saw the weapons of the nomads he killed before. They had many halberds and so he made up his mind. He thought, that a mere human is weak and has his own will, but as a unique weapon, he could possess the wearer and bring Kor'this to the strongest person in Valoran and devour this person, to regain his powers to return to the Void.
*Kor'this took all halberds, melted them into one single, beautiful solid halberd, sharp as the claws of Kor'this itself. He morphed himself into the halberd and waited for the travelling nomads. The leader took the halberd, because he saw how unique it was. But before, he took the baby in his care. *
###Additional Notes:
- It is said that Kor'this was the ruler of the Void - When he left the Void, he left a empty space on the throne to claim. When the voidborns fought for the throne, they almost destroyed the Void. As a compromise, everyone had their own territory and called themselves Lords for claiming country. However, one of the Lords has been revealed/hinted in the Champion Concept of Neverious, the Judge of the Void - He is hinted as the person behind the eye of Neverious (lorewise).
- Most of the voidborns who are in our world Runeterra, are only there because they were sent by each different Lord or went on the journey on their own, like Kha'Zix seeks for a great contestant like Rengar.
Originality is the spice of life.
