[Champion Concept] Takumi - The Reluctant Swordsman

First I like to introduce myself and tell you that I'm a huge Otaku (japanese word for "maniac" or a great fan of something). I can't explain this great boundary between me and japan, but I love japan, japanese, japanese culture, japanese history and its people. This includes Samurais - I love them and I wish I would live right now in the age of the Samurai, as they only truly lived in the edo dynasty.
However, because I can't show my honor and my gratitude for their mere existence, I can only make Samurai Champions. I know that we have Yasuo (Please don't insult the Samurai by calling Master Yi one of them - he's a extreme super-fictional far-away-to-be-called Samurai) but Yasuo wears a Tachi (A Katana that is longer than usual Katanas and is more saber-like) and I think there is a huge potential in the Samurai category - We got Akali, Shen, Zed and Kennen as Ninjas - I would love to see more Samurais entering the Fields of Justice.
If I get enough feedback, I might as well create another Samurai Concept (Perhaps I rework my previous Samurai-Geisha or put up a new one) who is related to Takumi lorewise.

##Lore "You don't need a blade to cut someone" - Takumi, the Reluctant Swordsman

"Takumi is a very skilled and proudful swordsman who originates from a hidden clan in Ionia, where noone, not even the elders knew anything about it. The day when Takumi's clan, the 'Clan of the Seven Swords' was revealed, was also the day of its eventual ruination.

Takumi was born like his inability to give up; Out of nowhere. Takumi was a mere child when he travelled through the country, always searching for food or a place for the night. He met one of the masters of the 'Clan of the Seven Swords' and became the adoptive son that his master always wanted.
The name of this master was Kenshi and he successfully trained and raised Takumi to a great warrior, perhaps too great.

Every once in a while, when a new generation of swordsman arises in the hidden clan, a tournament of skill and wisdom was held to choose a new master of the clan. Takumi was one of the participants, even though many mistrusted him due to his origin.
Despite of the role as a master, Takumi wanted nothing more than one of the seven swords that is given to each seven masters. It is said that the sword of the seven strenghtens the powers of the wielder and makes him almost unbeatable.

Takumi fought many battles until the final battle was decided. Even though against the rules, Takumi's opponent ripped his right eye in front of everyone. Despite of the rule, every single master icluding master Kenshi decided that Takumi's opponent won and so he was given the title of a master. Takumi left the clan without a trace - some thought that he had end his life in shame.

Years after Takumi's loss, he returned to the village where not only his previous opponent, but also the other masters of his former clan betrayed him once in the past. Takumi challenged the masters of the 'Clan of the Seven Swords' with only one wooden sword. Takumi's eye gazed at them, his face turned dead serious and still at this moment the masters couldn't resist but to laugh at Takumi's foolishness to challenge them with a wooden sword.

One after another, Takumi successfully defeated and killed every master including his rival, and his father and master Kenshi. Takumi realized that the need of a blade made them kneel and fall before him because they lost the belief in their techniques, as they only believed in the power that the swords gave them.

Takumi's deepest wish was to join the Institute of War because he seeks for challengers and those who can defeat him, as his life was always determined to find a worthy opponent."

Takumi looks pretty much similiar like this guy down below.

##Champion Explanation

  • Takumi - From Japanese 匠 "artisan" or 巧 "skilled". It can also come from 拓 (taku) "expand, open, pioneer" combined with 海 (mi) "sea, ocean" or 実 (mi) "truth".
  • Takumi is the last swordsman from the clan of the seven swords as the clan itself is no more. In fear of that he might lose his mind and his technique like the others, he didn't even care about taking the swords for himself.
  • Takumi uses a wooden blade (picture above - a bokken) to deal damage to his opponents. He learned that not the blade itself cuts, but the technique does. He swore to himself to never wield a sharp blade to never forget his foolishness that made him first fall.
  • Takumi's technique has no real name as he alone created it. Some say his father and master were the ones, but there is no proof as none can say that his master Kenshi ever used this technique. Takumi roughly says "Delayed Cut Technique" from time to time. This technique is similiar to most of Samurai movies or animes where a cut with the weapon wouldn't instantly damage the target, but after awhile. (For example: Kill Bill 2 - the "The Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique ")
  • Takumi himself doesn't call himself a Samurai or a great swordsman, but he wants to believe that there are far greater swordsman who can defeat him and give him enough motivation to get better.
  • In the lore stays that Takumi murdered everyone of the masters. That's partially true, because one of the masters avoided death by having a deal with a superior creature. He'll probably show up to revenge Takumi.
  • Takumi's specialization is as his title already suggests - He can build up stacks to then deal great damage to his opponents when they are not expecting it. He is similiar to Twitch who can stack his passive and use his E to trigger the ability to deal further damage. Similiar to this, Takumi will have a similiar stack-system, trigger-system and a delayed damage to overcome and outsmart his opponents.
  • Takumi is a friend of Yasuo the Unforgiven and Chizu the Untainted. The last time Takumi met Yasuo and Chizu, was more than 3 years before the destruction of the hidden clan. His personality has pretty much changed, which makes him more distant to them, but still considers them as close friends.
  • Related to the prologue where Yasuo, Takumi, Chizu and Mitsume met at Samurai's Pride while Takumi was preparing himself for the tournament. The word 'Samurai' was since the conversation in his head. When he almost died at the final battle, he left the clan to train due to Yasuo's words "A swordsman does not pointlessly murder, but defines his technique as art, thus honors every fight." and finally was able to defeat the masters with only a wooden blade and his technique.

Takumi's abilities have no cost and are only restricted by cooldown.

*SK = Skillshot
BA = Basic Attack
ATR = Attack Timer Reset
LO = Lock-On
MC = Mouse Cursor
AU = Aura
P = Passive
AoE = Area of Effect
DoT = Damage over Time
D = Dash
T = Teleport

| Ability | Name | Effect | Type | Range | Cooldown |- | Innate Passive | Pain Delay | Every 60/45/30/15 (level 1/6/11/16) seconds Takumi is able to delay a incoming ability (including basic attack enhancer / on-hit effects). A delayed enemy ability will deal damage to Takumi after 2.5 seconds instead of instantly. Whenever a ability gets delayed there is a halo ring above Takumi that indicates that his passive is activated.

| Ability | Name | Effect | Type | Range | Cooldown |- | Q | Avenged Strike | Takumi dashes while sweeping with his blade forward. Takumi deals to each enemy unit 45/57/69/81/93 (+10%/+15%/+20%/+25%/+30% AD) physical damage and adds to each enemy unit one stack of "Sevenfold". If Takumi damages a enemy Champion, he can recast Avenged Strike once more within the next 3.5 seconds. |D + MC |550| 11.5 at all ranks

| Ability | Name | Effect | Type | Range | Cooldown |- | W | Sevenfold | Passive: Each ability and basic attack applies on enemy targets one stack of 'Sevenfold' up to a max of 7 stacks for 3.5 seconds. This is shown as bokken Katanas (wooden katanas) around the targets. Upon Activation: All stacks of 'Sevenfold' near by 600/700/800/900/1000 range are consumed and each target receives damage equal to [12%/14%/16%/18%/20% of total AD*] for each current stack. If one of the targets does have max (7) stacks, the cooldown of 'Sevenfold's active is halved. |P + AoE |1000 | 8 at all ranks|

| Ability | Name | Effect | Type | Range | Cooldown |- | E | Eternal Wave |Takumi slashes with his wooden blade in the air. A small wave flies forward, deals to all enemy units 45/55/65/75/85(+40% Bonus AD) physical damage and applies one stack of 'Sevenfold'. On the end of the path, after 0.7 seconds delay, a great collision on the ground appears and knocks up all enemy targets and deals 5%(+10% AP) of their max health as magic damage. |SK + AoE| 450 | 15.5 / 14.5 / 13.5 / 12.5 / 11.5

| Ability | Name | Effect | Type | Range | Cooldown |- | Ultimate | Reverence | Takumi concentrates on his behalf. Takumi's basic attacks, abilities, on-hit effects and active items deal no longer instant damage. Instead, for 6 seconds, Takumi's damage is stored on each enemy target. After 6 seconds or upon Recast or after reaching 400/500/600 total damage on one target, enemy targets receive the damage that was delayed, but now instantly. |DoT||110 / 90 / 70

###Champion Explanation & Personal Opinion

The first word that comes in your mind when you see Takumi - Delay.
That's right. Takumi is a very special Champion who can not only deal normal constant damage, but he can burst with not a additional ultimate, but with the concentrated power of the rest of his kit - released together at once.
Why would anyone want to play a Champion with delayed damage? I don't know if you ever had this situation or if this situation was problematic for you.

Let's say you encounter a enemy who's fed and basically is based on sustain/lifesteal. Let's say Master Yi or any other Marksman. While Takumi is a Fighter/Assassin, he'll deal constant damage while being fragile, he maybe does some plays and still a 50:50 chance exists that the enemy marksman will kite you, sustain by dealing damage on you and make your previous damage somewhoat nullified. Instead, you activate your Ultimate and start dealing constant build-up damage - In the end, you'll deal tons of damage compressed and concentrated in one blow, which makes it easier to kill your opponent. However, even though Takumi's kit is specialized in single-target fights, he can still use his Ultimate in combination with his other abilities, to stack indefinitely 'Sevenfold' and deal in a group fight tons of damage in one blow.

However, I recommend to buy Blade of the Ruined King, because one weakness has Takumi. When his damage is delayed, his basic attacks deal no damage in first place, which makes him unable to use lifesteal to sustain. Because of this fact, Blade of the Ruined King's damage will be delayed too, but the heal will apply immediately.

Takumi is very strong against sustainable fighters like Riven, Olaf(especially Olaf as his passive gets dangerous the lesser health he has) and glass cannon Champions like Brand, Kayle(If Kayle ults herself, Takumi can ult too to store the damage on Kayle and if the shield is down the damage is applied to Kayle and she's down). Takumi loses against CC based Champions because when he uses his Q to dash and can dash a second time to escape, the Champion with hard CC can stop him from recasting (example: Lissandra, Renekton, Leona) and he will fall because of his lack of constant damage in early. In late, he could win against CC based Champions, but only if they don't have a advantage already.

This guy looks like a Paladin version of Cloud Strife and Vincent Valentine from FF7, which makes me super happy.

i think the idea of a delay champ is good, just in a team fight he would have 3 seconds of invulnerability to kill everyone ( if he was fed) which would make him the easiest champ to get pentas with. another issue is that if he were to be hit by an entire team and a)he gets all damage built up at once 3 seconds later, he would die regardless of summoner 7 healing or summoner 21 shields , there wouldnt be any way to save him b) if he had zhonyas he could do what i fist spoke of, then item 3157 zhonyas and take no damage at all, so he would have to be nerfed a bit. cool idea though
