Champion Select Idea

Often when I'm in a que for a game, and I find out what I wanna play, I like to see my possibilities through, but sometimes, it can be a bit difficult to spot some of the champions. Therefor I think it will be a great idea, to make it able for users to design their own "topics" in champion select. This will give some players a better overview over possible champions they want to play.

These topics shall be made before a game, similar to the "Item Set" option.

If you have any questions on how the concept works, feel free to ask me, and I will try to answer them.

I've been wanting this for ages! As long as the lists are customizable (better than typing "mage" or "marksman" in the search bar), this would significantly improve my experience in the game. With so many champions, I always forget about some of the ones I have in a given position.

I'm REALLY hoping they put this in the new client. .... or the current one.

I'd rather not the mid, adc, and all that, but rather customizable champion groups. If it were just roles, unless it was showing champion roles from Riot's description, which are not always accurate, it would be annoying and continue to enforce a serious meta. If it were customizable, you could do it to your liking and yours alone.

I own like 70 or so champions. I'd love to be able to be able to only see the ones I actually play.

I like it! With item sets out, it only makes sense to have this as well. I wonder if it's hard to code and what not. :)

there is a third party program that actually does this, although riot should put this in.

Champion filters LSI allows you to easily create custom champion groups. Typing the group name to champion select search box will bring up only the champions in that group, just like the default marksman or tank groups.

it actually works. you have to start lsi and create the filters before you start league, but it does work.

This is a neat idea

BUT

it is already in the game (kinda)

when looking for a champ, go to the search button

you can then type a few categories such as: Marksman, Fighter, Tank, Support, Mage

it will bring up all champions under that specific category

it would be better if you could swap through tanks marksman's fighters mages etc and not the lanes

They could bunch of filters, and ordering arrangements that can even be set up in the settings; like " favorite order".

A program that I use to record my games has this exact functionality, where it can allow you to create and name custom champ parameters that you can search to bring up the champs you want in Champ Select. For example, I can type "AP Jungle" (a custom set of mine) into the champion search bar, and Fiddle, Amumu, Nautilus, etc., will pop up. It makes my life a lot easier since I usually fill instead of choosing a role right off the bat, so I often have less than 30 seconds to select. The program is called LSI, Lol Summoner Information. I don't think this violates Riots policies on add-ons, since it doesn't actually change anything in-game, just cleans up champ select a little.

in the search bar u can just type mage, assassin, tank, marksman, support, or fighter and it will show all the champs for that specific role lol

This is a Great Idea! The Search bar is kinda confusing at the moment (IMHO), But this new option will Help A LOT For players like us (with more than 35 champs) to find the specific role/Lane Champions easier and faster! I Hope that Riot sees your idea and makes something like this soon! summoner 31

This could be VERY helpful when you have to last second decide a champ in a certain category or type. I.e. being able to know that your team needs an AP tank jung, or Needs a bursty mid, or whatever.
