Karrin, the Hope of Demacia

A woman who has spent much of her life at the defense of Demacia against the incursions of Noxus, Karrin reached a point where she decided to retire to a peaceful existence away from war, leaving her beloved Demacia to live in the far off islands of Ionia. There, she founded a small farm. She met a man, and may even have married him, had war not found its way to her door yet again: The Noxus-Ionian conflict.

Karrin stepped onto the battlefield once again to protect the village that she called home. Ultimately successful, she could not deny the damage wrought by the Noxian war machine, including the man she may have loved. At the end of the Conflict, she returned to Demacia to flee what she had lost.

It was the advent of the Institute of War that gave her hope for the future. A way to settle conflicts on the Fields of Justice, in place of violent wars that claim countless innocent lives. Though she had a desire to volunteer her skills to such a noble dream, she felt she was not yet ready to do so.

Karrin traveled to Piltover, seeking the amazing minds behind all manner of Hextech creations, and it is there that she commissioned the creation of her now-distinctive weapon. Holding to her specialty with halbards during her life as a soldier, she worked with Jayce to design something that both suited her needs and the ideal she wished to embody.

A scythe is a tool, used for farming more than it is for combat. A weapon Karrin chose purely for what it represented: The ultimate result of war is peace. With her transforming Hextech Glaive in hand, Karrin felt she was ready to volunteer her services as a Champion and fight for the ideal she wishes to represent.

Passive - Swords to Plowshares

Karrin's abilities and auto attacks apply a stacking debuff which reduces enemy damage by 2% for 4 seconds. This stacks up to 5 times.

- Can be applied on multiple targets at once, such as by AoE skills.

Q - Hope's Hook Cooldown 12/11/10/9/8 seconds, 40 mana

ACTIVE: Karrin transforms her Hextech Glaive into Scythe form and charges (+25% movement speed for 4 seconds or the On-Hit modifier is used). The next attack Karrin performs is an upward hooking motion that does 30/60/90/120/150 (+30% AD) damage while hurling the opponent overhead and slamming them behind her for a .75/1/1.25/1.5/2 second root.

PASSIVE: After casting, Karrin's Hextech Glaive remains in Scythe Form. Attack range is reduced to 125. Attack Speed is reduced by 10%. Damage caused by Karrin's auto attacks is increased by 5/10/15/20/25%. This passive is lost upon using Impaler.

- The auto-attack modifier fades after 4 seconds. It goes on cooldown when used or timed out.

- Transitioning into Scythe Form is announced with a mechanized voice.

- Can be used for a burst of speed, but that isn't its primary purpose and the speed boost is quite short compared to similar skills.

- Purpose is as a ganking/engage tool.

W - Line Breaker Cooldown 65, mana 70

GLAIVE FORM: (range 700) Karrin thrusts her weapon forward several times in an 80 degree cone, causing 70/115/160/205/250 (+40% AD) damage to all enemies from nearest to furthest and slowing them by 20% for 2 seconds.

SCYTHE FORM: (range 550) Karrin sweeps her weapon in a 120 degree arc in front of her, causing 100/145/190/235/280 damage to all enemies from right to left and slowing them by 20% for 1 second.

- Damage to champions is reduced by up to 5% for each additional champion struck beyond the first.

- Scythe Form's arc is short and wide (120 degrees) compared to Glaive Form's arc being long and narrow (80 degrees)

- Cone skillshot

- Occasionally announced by the Glaive's mechanical voice.

- Purpose is mostly aimed towards wave clear and jungling, though may assist in ganking.

E - Impaler Cooldown 13/12/11/10/9 seconds, range 500, mana 60

ACTIVE: Karrin dashes a short distance and thrusts her Hextech Glaive into target enemy Champion, causing 60/100/140/180/220 (+50% AD) and rooting them for 1 second.

PASSIVE: After casting, Karrin's Hextech Glaive remains in Glaive Form. Attack range resets to 200, attack speed returns to normal (higher than Scythe Form), and damage returns to normal (lower than Scythe Form). This Passive is lost upon using Hope's Hook.

- Clicking the skill to target it, then clicking it again, will shift Karrin's weapon to Glaive form without casting the ability and place Impaler on a 50% reduced cooldown.

- The dash is about the same range as Vayne's Tumble and cannot cross walls. The skill's actual range is determined by the dash distance + her auto attack range in Glaive Form.

- Transitioning into Glaive Form is announced by a mechanized voice.

- Chasing and ganking tool.

R - Demacian Harvester Cooldown 90/75/60, mana 100

GLAIVE FORM**: (range 900, width 300) Karrin dashes forward and thrusts her Glaive, dealing 150/250/350 (+60% AD)damage to all enemies she encounters from start to finish. Enemies with health below 50% take additional damage.

SCYTHE FORM: (range 600, width 600) Karrin surges forward and throws herself into a spin, dealing 150/250/350 (+60% AD)damage to all enemies she encounters from start to finish. Enemies with health above 50% take additional damage.

  • ** DEMACIA! **

- Linear skillshot. Can cross walls.

- Scythe Form has short range and a wide width. Glaive Form has long range and a narrow width.

- High enough cooldown that it can't be used twice in a team fight, but may be up for the next one.

- In Glaive Form, an execute. In Scythe Form, a teamfight initiator.

This is just the first draft.

Activating some of her skills will announce their names in the same mechanized voice that announces her mode changes. This voice may also speak up after her regular dialogue in response to attack or move commands.
