Theory crafting by a stupid & infamous person - The Neverworld
Following the new Dev Blog Exploring Runeterra, Riot lost the identity of the living world called Runeterra. I'm here to talk about theories how to change the current identity loss and make it more appeal to a wider spectrum of players, instead of the hardcore lorefans like me, who needs a bit more of fantasy to clear out issues and lack of understanding by its own.
- What if Runeterra is the Universe/Galaxy - and Valoran is on a Planet (planet's name is unknown - But we can have some more investigations by astronomers - New Champion?) and people are fighting over their own or others benefits. **The summoning process makes sure to really summon the persons from other worlds (Planets). Runeterra's wisest magicians are able to use this ancient magic, while other planets are hopeless in the face of this grand teleportation skill. **
- Or Runeterra (The World where everything is currently fighting) has the current timeline and Valoran is in the middle of this timeline, while other Champions like Zilean and Taric and the others, are from Runeterra, but from an other timeline (Also called parallel world). (In case someone doesn't know what I mean with timeline. There is a theory that everything, from the beginning of this world, starts from point zero. There are several (probably billions) timelines that are mostly similiar to the other. For example, lets take two different timelines in our world. You live in an apartment in New York and you have a job as a bodyguard and you go out like everyday to your workplace. In one timeline, you arrive at the workplace. On the other timeline, you fell on the ground and broke your arm, thus had to go to the hospital. This is an example for the timeline. There are probably billions of them, in each you normally walk on the ground of New York City, or you live in a house in Queens, or perhaps you are a businessman in Los Angeles. Runeterra should be similiar)
We all know the current lore. There is Runeterra, but also Valoran. Valoran is Runeterra, but Runeterra isn't Valoran. We see many Champions like Taric, Renekton, Nasus, Azir, Morgana and Kayle who actually are from other "worlds". The term "Worlds" is a bridely known word for a dimensional world or a planet's civilization.
#**Now if we think over, does it sound any good? What is actually Runeterra? **
Take a look at the League Wiki
Runeterra is the "world", and there are continents. It is said that Valoran is a continent, so are there any other? It is stated that other continents are "unknown", which probably indicates what I have said earlier - Runeterra is the planet. The other worlds speaken, are probably planets too, or they are dimensional worlds (Like I said, a parallel world from different timeline).
My Suggestion: Make it clear that Runeterra is either a planet or world, and the others invading this world are from different planets, dimensional worlds or timeline. Perhaps there could be also new continents found on Runeterra.
- *There is actually a identity loss in the means of a Summoner and the worth of a Champion. Champions are meant to battle for their land, but are controlled by superb awesome magicians who can control a Champion like a puppeteer controls his barbie. If this power exists, why does they even have to fight on the field? You could use a normal civilian or a enemy soldier as a puppet, bring him near a leader of each different country and kill them with ease with one strike in their sleep.
I know its kinda stupid if you think like that, but it lacks of understanding. * - Champions CANNOT DIE! It is largely known that Champions are immortal and they can never die, not even in reality, duh. If you think like that, you must be pretty upset like me, right? If you connect this fact with the theory that we, the Summoners, play on Runeterra's current timeline in the League of Legends, you could say that the time in our world (Real World) is fast-paced, while the time in Runeterra (Virtual World) is more slow-paced in terms of hours, days and years. What for us seems a year, could be in Runeterra one month. In this one month in Runeterra, 3-4 Champions arrive. You can't possibly get a Champion killed by any coincidence in one month (If you say that as a excuse) - But if you say that no Champion can die in the last 3-4 years of League of Legends, NONE will believe you.
#What is a Nexus?
According to the League WIki it is a device to control the Champions on the battlefield. If destroyed, the control and the match is lost.
What should be a Nexus? The Nexus should be the heart of a team/fraction on the battlefield. The heart doesn't control the Champions, but works as both communication device and both as a resurrection device. Once destroyed, the Champions lose the ability to be resurrected and then they can die for real once they have been dealt fatal damage.
This should be a Nexus in my eyes, not a device to control, but to give your Champions advices like "Champion, go left".
By all means, do we really control the Champions? Not really. True Control means controlling the whole body, otherwise I would control my female Champion to touch her boobies and more... anyways, it shouldn't be told that Champions are "controlled". Champions move on their own animations, they have their own techniques and their own moves, free will (talking, gesture, emotes). We, the Summoners, summon the Champions on the battlefield and assist them in battle, because not only their nations are on stake, but also Valoran and its peace.
This is just my two cents.. and one quarter.
