VOD Community watching website, Chat decides what plays next!
Hey guys! I'm a small developer from the LAN server, and here it is a small idea for you guys...
Like a week ago I presented to you to BoB. Riot Youtube Livestram with Riot Twitch chat, next to each other, for those with slow internet connection.
With the hype in preparation for world, someone suggested in a post a few days ago in Reddit that Riot should stream the past world championship in their Twitch channel to build the hype towards world. Someone then posted playlists to all the games of past world championships.
But I think that watching the VODs together would be a better idea, so....
I build BoB Replays!
BoB Replays is a VOD watching site, where the chat decides what match is going to play next. Using Nightbot, the user can vote for the next game that is going to be played typing a simple command:
> !vote numberOfMatch
To get the number of the match just go to BoB Replays Match Finder. There you can find all the matches available through LoL eSports Youtube Channel, and can apply filters you find the exact match that you want, and lookup for the code to vote for that match. There are some rules for voting:
- You can vote only one time for a match each round.
- You can vote for as many matches as you want each round.
- You can't vote for a match that was played less than 6 hours ago.
The next most voted match is automatically loaded when the video ends, and all the counter are automatically resetted so every match has a fair chance of being selected!
To keep in sync with the others, when you land on the site it will set an offset of the start of the match based at what time the match started playing on the site based on a server clock. To improve the accuracy of this, you make sure your system clock is the most updated possible.
Without futher due, Let's watch VODs together!
Future features include:
- Match request: When a match is not listed in the site, because it was in another channel, you will be able to fill a form with the link to the match, to later be approved and added to the list of possible matches to vote for.
