Sona X Draven Chapter 6, short chapter
This is a shorter chapter after 4 and 5 were both longer in my opinion. Tell me what you think! Also if there is anyone out there who has read the chapters up until this point, what do you think of the overall story? Please comment, I love to hear what you think, even if it is negative :)
VI Katarina hissed “Well, I really shouldn’t be surprised you would do something so impulsive Draven. But flat out stupid is out of character for you.” Draven rubbed his freshly slapped face idly, as if none of this mattered to him at all. He was a bystander watching the events unfold to some other Draven far away. Urgot grunted and hissed frantically, probably at despair of his lost prey. Talon was livid as well, “You have doomed us all, fool!” Draven looked to the sky apathetically. “At least I will get to see you executed with me…” Talon delivered a carefully aimed punch to immobilize Draven’s core. The sternum vibrated with the impact and Draven fell gasping for air. Talon was confident in his skills, but Draven was not to be taken lightly. The executioner had height and weight advantage over talon, and a history of brawling with someone who heavily outclassed him. Talon planted his foot firmly on Draven’s back, pinning him to the ground and pushed. Draven coughed a spray of blood onto the grass near his mouth, but did not ask for reprieve. Instead he reverted to cockiness, “Can’t take me without a cheap shot eh? cough Coward.” Talon pressed harder but was cut off before he could come up with a snarky retort by a deep voice that had previously remained silent. Darius rumbled, “That’s enough Talon, you proved your point.” “No, I haven’t.” Talon grimaced at Darius, “This clown plays with my life, and it will cost him what matters most.” Talon swept his cape for emphasis, “Too many scars will ruin his precious face and his vanity may actually leave for once!” Draven made an off-barking sound as his breath was slowly returning while Talon talked, and jolted his body to loosen the assassin’s foothold. He then rolled sideways and hooked Talon’s foot to bring him down. Once on the ground Draven could successfully use his weight to his advantage and braced his body against Talon’s shoulder and tried to wrench the arm from its socket. Talon swung viscously at his unprotected side, all Draven could hear was a dull thumping and his own racing pulse in his head. Soon enough the assassin got a good hit in to weaken Draven slightly and break free! Both fighters leapt to their feet to create distance and reach for weapons. Draven twirled an ax off his back as Talon threw out three knives to rake him. Still a bit sluggish from the pounding his ribs took, Draven knew he couldn’t dodge the assault. His only option was to take Talon with. He hurled the ax underhand, aimed for the center of mass. Three dull thunks echoed on the hill. Draven frowned at the intervention. Darius stood facing Talon with the knives lodged securely on his armguards, held before him in a defensive “X” shape. Behind him stood Kat holding Draven’s ax clamped between her palms, still crouched in the position she caught it from. Darius straightened his posture and bellowed “Enough! You children sicken me!” He towered over Talon, spitting anger with each syllable, “You were about to kill a comrade for a doom that hasn’t even happened yet! If we are right, then Sona won’t sell us out and there will be no problem! Wait until your actions make sense!” The goliath turned his anger to his brother. Darius stormed past Draven shoving him hard in the same direction. “Move it! We are going back to Noxus to clean this up.” Over his shoulder he warned, “Give us an hour head start or they will kill each other. “ No one argued with the brick house wielding an ax meant to split mountains.
