Arashi & Hinan-sho (Storm & Haven)

Aras & Hin

I created these guys with the idea of coming up with something truly original to league. I have made every effort to set this champion apart from every other. Hopefully you will think I've succeeded.

Lore: Aras and Hin are fraternal twins. Their spirits are so deeply intertwined that they share both life and death...if one dies so the other dies also. Due to some tragic event in their early childhood Aras has developed a rage within that he himself is unable to control, which reveals itself thru sudden outburst of violence. Although having gone thru the same tragic experience, Hin somehow found a way to control her emotions by taking her mind to a place of calm and tranquility. She has developed the ability to project that same tranquility to others, becoming the only one who can sometimes suppress Aras' anger.

Aras- "My past has decided your fate"

Hin- "There is a calm in every storm"

More lore details to come...

Appearance: I envision Aras colored in deep reds and black with heavy armor and a flowing cape w/ hood. Hin would have a long flowing silvery and white dress and long strips of cloth flowing down with bladed tips. She would have a radiant, glittering aura. Look for attached image at bottom that will give you some kind of idea of what I'm talking about. It is not my artwork.

Playstyle: Aras and Hin are played as one character. They are always holding hands while walking and depending on whom you choose, that character will take the lead as they walk. Aras is played as an APC and Hin is played as a support champion, giving you the freedom to change roles thru-out the game depending on the circumstances. A short cool down on all abilities when switching between roles helps balance this game play style.

Abilities: Hin- Support/Mage

Basic Attack- Hin throws white orbs that shatter dealing area damage.

Passive-Self-less Soul: With her dying breath Hin makes one final attempt to aid Aras by blessing him with a heal over time and a damage increase that grows over several seconds.

Q- Insight: With her keen mental perception, Hin is able to sense an enemy's weakness. Striking out with a bladed cloth she slashes an enemy, bypassing all resistances and dealing true damage. Hin is also able to project her insight to the nearest allied champion adding additional true damage to their next attack.

W- Eye of the storm: Hin creates a swirling vortex around herself or a targeted allied champion, pushing enemies back, and absorbing all incoming magic attacks for a short duration.

E- Blade Dance: Hin spins around in a graceful dance, her dress getting caught up in the wind. The bladed tips deal damage and cripple all enemies in a radius, slowing them for a short duration.

R- Switches between Aras and Hin. May be done at any time but there is a short cool down on all abilities when swapping between characters. Also, provides a short movement speed buff upon swap. This ability is available to be picked up from level one.

Aras- Mage/Assassin

Basic Attack- Aras' hands become blades of flame and stone, cutting and burning those he attacks.

Passive- Vengeful Spirit: Aras comes back from the dead as a vengeful spirit with a small amount of health and mana and decreased AP for one final attempt at exacting his wrath. Hin's final blessing gives him a heal over time and damage increase over time. If he is not finished off in time, upon regaining his full strength, he will return to his physical form.

Q- Untamed Rage: In his rage Aras projects his energy forward causing a wave of flames to burst upward and forward from the ground, burning all enemies in its path for damage plus damage over time.

W- Sound of Fury: Aras lets out a furious scream silencing enemies in a radius around him and stunning them for a very short duration.

E- Relentless Wrath: Aras becomes determined to exact his wrath, like a ghost he disappears and reappears behind his victim releasing an initial burst of damage and gaining increased AP

R- Same as Hin. See above explanation.

Well I guess that's about it for now. Please keep in mind, as I know that there will inevitably be someone who says something like "sounds way OP", that first off they have no true ult and secondly numbers can change everything...such as base stats, damage amounts and so on. Also minor changes in abilities may be necessary. I am definitely open to thoughts and ideas. Look for possible updates and more detailed lore if this is well received. Thanks!

Update- After considering some comments I have removed the heal on Hin's basic attack and have changed her passive to give it synergy with Ara's passive and make it work in the context of two characters. The new passive also allows for a nice gameplay dynamic which I don't think I have seen before. You must take him back down quickly before he regains full power.

Are they gonna have any dialogue with Janna?

Also you may want to think about tweaking your concept to make abilities and passives more unique to the character. Aras' passive sounds a lot like Yorick's ult and his Sound of Fury sounds exactly like Cho'Gath's silence as well. Hin's passive is exactly like Fizz's. Plus I don't think passives switch with other form changing champs but maybe if these were created separately.

Maybe instead he can come back for a short amount of time (shorter than Yorick ult) and with say a quarter health/mana and a large burst of movement speed. That way you keep the general concept of coming back to life but with an added uniqueness that other death-defying abilities don't have.

And you could make his cone of silence an aoe effect like blitz ult but shorter radius (say that of Lee Sin's E) and a flat amount of small percentage health damage.

I like the basic attack idea for Hin but no other champion has an effect on their basic attack unless they have an item or ability to go with it. maybe if you made the heal 1% of a stat like AP or Mag resist or movement speed and then put it on a timer like ever 3 or 4 seconds (kind of like how Lissandra has a 7 second timer on her passive for free spells). Then you have the auto attack idea and you can fit the phantom dancer/fizz passive-esque passive into an ability like Janna has on her Zephyr(?)

This is a very neat idea, but I feel like a dual character just doesn't seem like the greatest choice for a player to maintain.

BTW Hin's basic, is a very powerful basic, depicting the fact that if you (the player) grabbed Attack speed + a Life Steal item, you practically make an invincible champ to some extent. Just because she is a support doesn't mean she cannot deal damage. PLUS does it heal her? or both of them, then if you have a dual Health system, then your facing another problem, what happens when one died? Do both die? or one? then what happens to the other person? If they share health, then it becomes another issue, for ITEMS, because would you have to build APC or Support?

I don't know? It just seems like it would be excruciatingly hard to play this champion, to many "need to knows".

Would both forms be visible? Like you say they're holding hands so I imagine who ever you're controlling in front with the other in the back kind of being pulled but not really. And then when you hit R they do the form change flash effect and the other is leading. Or do you have 1 form visible at a time?

And if in the first example one form get's hit does the other take damage for the lead or would the hit box only be over the leading champion?

I like the ideas but lets say they are used in the same game that stinks for the other person. I was thinking maybe the ultimate could be that the champion calls their twin and they have increased attack and movement speed together.

I was confused on the idea of the champion nvm I thought they were 2 different champions.

Just like Quinn and Valor, i believe only one of the two siblings should be on screen at a time. For example when Hin switches place with Ara there could be an animation of a storm cloud swapping the two, or at least something along those lines.

I like the idea of having them both on screen holding hands except when they use abilities. This could be a mechanic in gameplay too.

Example: Which ever character is selected by R leads from the front. When that character uses an abiltiy they step away from the other character a few feet and then back. Similar to what leblanc does when she jumps then casts back.

Maybe make them yordles so their hit-boxes can still be within reason? :P
