So with Amumu's description a short temporary couple of sentences whilst the writers that be craft the lore. I figured the little mummy boy needed a friend to tell a tale about him. Here is my rendition of what Amumu's Origin story would be. Warning it may be sad.

Amumu's origins are most likely linked to an ancient Shurima legend of the "Unwanted Heir". The tale was of a young Shuriman prince, who by all rights was the next ruler of the thriving empire. Though the Emperor had wished his second son to be the ruler.

Amumu was, in many ways, the gentlest spirit in Shurima. He spent his days studying the fantastic tales of ascension under the tutelage of his royal scholar, his evenings playing alone in the garden and his nights alongside his mother listening to her stories as he drifted into slumber. Amumu showed every person kindness no matter their caste or position in life. Amumu loved everyone, they were his people and he wanted only to be with them.

His father despised his weak heir for he had sought a true king. Someone willing to spill blood to take Shurima to even greater heights. He despised his own son and in anger made many misjudgements of public affairs. This cost the ruler public opinion and the loving child heir was bombarded with hatred, a proxy for the king.

Amumu as he approached six years old had become more secluded, the constant harassment of the angry people weighed on his soul. His mother was his greatest source of comfort, her love kept Amumu strong in the face of hatred.

Then nearing his 7th year of age, his father's concubine had produced a healthy son. The boy was named after his father and Amumu could sense his mother's displeasure. Never in Shurima history was the son of a concubine named after a ruler, it was a tradition kept only for those birthed into legitimacy.

The day before his 7th birthday Amumu began to struggle, his mother's paranoia fed the darkness inside him and the hate that was thrown down upon him by his people brought poor amumu to tears. He sat in the gardens weeping, wailing and wallowing in the darkness of his heart. He slowly felt the creeping dread of hatred seep into his soul. When in the darkest pit he heard a voice. Amumu opened his eyes to see two other children in front of him. It was a young girl and an even younger boy.

" Why are you crying?" The young girl asked.

Amumu was stunned, he wasn't sure why he cried, perhaps it was the grief of those around him that fed his own. He was now without anyone who cared and he was surrounded by people yet inside he felt alone, alone.

In a sobbing intermittent voice he responded " I... I, I'm all alone." he sobbed a little more then continued " I, I want to... be happy... again"

The innocent girl look at the pitiful young child and gave Amumu a sweet and tender hug.

" It sounds like all you need is a friend" the young girl replied while patting young Amumu on the back.

" I've always wanted a friend" Amumu spoke softly as his sobbing subsided. On that day Amumu felt the greatest happiness of his entire life: friendship. He missed the kindness of another and longed for it,once more he felt it's warmth. They played until the sun had finally slipped beneath the horizon. They wished each other well and agreed to meet again after his Birthday.

After a night of sweet respite, Amumu donned his formal wear and joined in the festivities that awaited him. He could sense the disdain of the people and his Father's hatred but he knew there was no more need for sadness.

Finally the time for his great supper had arrived and everyone was seated accordingly: himself next to his mother, with his father on his left and oddly the concubine sat across him but Amumu was too carefree to notice. After the ceremonious speech ended with a proud " We drink to the one true heir to Shurima" everyone held their grails up for the toast and sipped the sweet wine, including Amumu.

After Amumu placed the goblet on the table, he looked to his father who's unusually joyous smile was unnerving. Then with an abrupt gasp as his mother tried to shriek. She clasped her throat and fell to the floor writhing in agony. Amumu felt the darkness creep in and he lunged to his mother's side and looked up at all those around him: the looks of hatred, of pity, of the most devilish eyes. Amumu then felt that grasp in his throat, it clenched tightly he couldn't breathe. He panicked and looked for aide, looking for a friend in his most dire moment. He crawled towards the door, sobbing, weeping, paralyzing all the onlookers in absolute dread. The grief of the innocent piercing the hearts of those around him. He felt the darkness inside overtake him, the anger, the longing for his friends and in one last gesture he screamed with such horrendous torment, a such cursed power that had brought the entire Shurman empire to a halt for that moment. They felt his anguish, the death of innocence and finally the father felt the power inside the true heir of shurima. The power the young boy had was immense and misunderstood, the father only now saw it and no longer blinded by his arrogance shed a tear for his now dead son.

With the greatest and saddest ceremony, Shurima put to rest the worthiest heir of the Empire.

Though poor Amumu's story didn't end there. The young amumu was a true Shuriman heir, and his power was so immense that in the brief moment he had cursed his soul and body to immortality. After resting for millennia the poor Amumu awoken from his slumber covered in his burial wrappings. The cursed spirit remembers little of his life, only the greatest and deepest emotions he felt. Amumu now wanders the land, crippled by a lonesome despair, seeking the saving warmth of the one thing he remembers most powerfully, friendship.
