Hey guys, battlecast cho gath has always been the coolest skin in game imo, so i decided to 3d print one out as a sculpture for my desk! took about 1 week, taken 3d model from thingiverse (which was taken from the game files), then disassembled it with software. put LEDs in it, painted, assembled. had a lot of fun with this and i'm pleased with the result. measures about 13'' x 9'' x 7''

As someone who loves digital modeling myself how did you get the 3d models from the game files????? I've been stumped by that for awhile now!

to make this more awesome... working speakers. for some odd reason i suddenly had a thought to put joints & motors in so the thing could move to the beat... but the speakers would be awesome to start.

I have been working with cheap 3D pritner lately and believe that you could get better results if you tuned your 3D printer settings. It seems to me that you use too much material (probably too high extruder speed). From my experience even cheap 3D printer can make smooth surface.
Though it is great work.
I am struggling with raft settings and settings of bottom layers because I cannot get solid bottom surface. And also support pillars are damn hard to get right. So you did a really great job in getting anything out that looks like something.
What 3D printer have you used? If I may ask.

Very skilled. If you are looking for another challenge. Could try making one similar one but a bit larger and with base/ bumping (not sure of the actual name for the speakers that you can see move) in his shoulder cannons as well. Not sure if it is impossible given the materials or may be expensive if bought device with them already then took off the case and put them in. But if you like it could be fun. Either way great work as is.
