[Champion Concept] Yaku - The Shadows Whisper

So I have had two Champion ideas floating around in my head for a while. With the release of Gnar, I feel more inspired to get the ideas out there. I am horrible at the "balance" aspect, but I decided to throw the general ideas out there to see what people think (and secretly hope Riot picks up :3 )

My first concept was for a Ninja ADC. I have this desire for there to be a "set" of a lot of champion themes that exist, and for the ninjas, a true ADC seems to be lacking. As such, I came up with an idea I thought was fairly cool.

Many of the damage stats were borrowed from other champs and their abilities, I am horrible at the maths and so I don't know if that would all add up to a balanced champ, on the stats alone :P I more went nuts on trying to make him seem crazy cool to play, and may have gone a little too far.

Let me know what you think! :)

Yaku was a name I picked out from picking apart the word for Whisper. You can tell I thought about that name long and hard.

In trying to design an ADC ninja, I wanted to work with an energy bar, similar to the other ninjas. I imagine the character as throwing Kunai, or small throwing darts. As would stick with the theme of a ninja, he would have to be fairly quick and bursty so I tried to work with that as well. Being a ninja, and someone to take advantage of striking at just the right moment, a lot of his abilities would have higher cooldowns, or be limited by energy. While he is considered an "ADC", he is well equipped to handle himself alone, being a champion who will not be easily caught off guard by the enemy players. He is definitely a character you would not want to get caught alone in an unwarded jungle, which I think fits a ninja assassin very well.

Yaku - The Shadows Whisper:

Yaku hails from the Order of Shadows. He has spent much time dedicated to studying the ancient arts of poison, learning how to take his targets out before they even realize it. Within the Forbidden Arts of the Shadows was a potent recipe for a poison, that when mastered, could be controlled at the will of the user to destabilize at a distance. Given the volatile nature of the poison, it took several decades for Yaku to master. His Master Zed allowed him to freely hunt and test the poison on anyone within the Order of Shadows territory until he mastered its use, both strengthening Yaku's own experience with the poison as well as proving the strength of those who care to live under the Order of Shadows domain.

Passive: Concealment After being out of view for 5 seconds, Yaku takes advantage of his environment by blending in for a surprise attack and goes stealth. Upon being within view of an enemy champion for two seconds, he will lose his stealth. If he attacks an enemy while either unseen or stealthed, for the next two seconds his attacks will deal an additional ( +30% AD) physical damage. I wanted to give him some form of stealth, as you can imagine this would be particularly important to a sneaky ranged assassin ninja. I do not know if this form of stealth would be overpowered, but I wanted to try and make it unique to other champions. In addition, he is required to stay out of sight and attack and just the right moment, lest he lose his advantage of stealth.

Q: Volatile Poison 35 Energy, 14/12/10/8/6 second cooldown Passive: Yaku's basic attacks deal (10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 (+ 20% AP)) over 3 seconds that stacks up to 6 times. Active: Yaku quickly throws 3 Kunai that deals 50% of Kunai's AD each as well as apply additional poison.

W: Caltrops 40/38/36/34/32 Energy, 14/13/12/11/10 second cooldown Yaku throws down a field of caltrops to cover his retreat. Each Caltrop deals (10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 + ( 30% AD )) physical damage and applies a 10% slow for 3 seconds that stacks up to 5 times with each Caltrop hit. The first time a target enemy hits a Caltrop, it applies a stack of poison. The field would work similar to Zigg's Minefield, except the target area would be rectangluar, or cone-shaped spreading out from his location. In addition, it would not have as far of a cast range as Minefield.

E: Rope Dart 40 Energy, 15/14/13/12/11 second cooldown. Yaku uses a Rope Dart to better navigate his environment and position himself. He can use it to pull himself to a terrain piece, as well as to catch enemies trying to run from him. If an enemy player walks through the rope, the rope breaks. This would be skillshot First Cast: Yaku tosses out a rope dart to target location. If the rope dart hits a wall/tower/object, a rope connecting Yaku to that object persists for 3 seconds. If the rope dart hits an enemy, the enemy is struck for (50/100/150/200/250 (+ .5% AD Maximum health per stack of poison) Physical damage. Second Cast: Yaku pulls himself closer to wherever the rope dart is stuck. I don't know that pulling himself all the way to a target would be a good idea for an adc, both offensively or defensively, but this is also subject to how far the rope dart would travel as well. The other option is that for hitting an object, it will pull him all the way, but if he sticks an enemy, it will only pull him half the total distance.

R: Volatile Explosion 50 Energy, 100/80/60 second cooldown. Any target with a stack of poison becomes the unfortunate victim of the poisons unstable nature as the poison erupts and explodes. For each stack of poison, a target takes (40/60/80 + 20% AP) Damage per stack of poison, their site radius is reduced and they lose shared vision for 1/1.5/2 seconds. I see this ability as playing the role of a good ultimate and being something that has multiple utilities for this champ. It could ideally be used as a finisher, but could also be used as a means to escape his opponents or reposition himself. Due to the blind, this ability would have great team utility as well, particularly if he, or another squishy character, were suddenly happened upon by a sticky enemy carry.

Alternate gameplay idea: His kit seems like it could be a little too powerful, given his stealth, slow caltrop field, blind ability, rope dart positioning, and his high damage. He can safely escape a lot of situations. As such, I considered replacing Caltrops with a Flash/Smoke bomb, which would work not too dissimilar from Grave's Smokescreen, while being just different enough to separate the two. Maybe it would just make him re-stealth for another two seconds and blind any target hit by the bomb. With Flash/Smoke bomb, his ultimate would also change to not include the site radius reduction, but instead cause the target to be temporarily disoriented and cause fear for .5/1/1.5 seconds instead.

Sounds like a mix of Jinx, Teemo, Ziggs, Nautilus/Thresh, and Twitch Lol
