[Champion Concept] Forthwind, Colonel of Sky Islands

I know that we have some Swordmasters in the League, but I believe in many people in the community, who are addicted to swordmasters in any kind.

The idea behind this Work in Progress is to create a Swordmaster with high challenging skills and rewarding if well played.

Since many peoples are heavily lazy and don't care anymore about details like Stats or even Lore, I'll make only the minimalistic except the skills.

Lore/Background: Above Valoran, in the sky behind the clouds, there are several floating islands hidden from everyone's eyes and knowledge.

The race who are living on these islands evolved with different needs and so they became wings. Those wings were holy for everyone, for many unbearable to touch, but was commonly used to fly from each island to another. Within centuries and decades, there was no documentation of any kind that would lead to the sky islands.

Except one, Forthwind, who fell from the sky without wings. Fortunately, he was landing in the ocean near by the coast of Demacia. Forthwind, a Colonel within the military forces of sky islands, was suspected of betrayal and assassination of the King of the sky islands. As a punishment, the greatest and the most terrible thing that the Executioner could do, was to tear Forthwind's wings apart and throw him down from the island, where he should bleed to death before he lands on the ground. However, the legendary sword of Forthwind was coincidentally thrown away with him. After Forthwind regained consciousness he had no clue what to do with his life, since his wings were no longer and his whole existence was terminated in less than a day. He then decided to fight alongside in the league, to get stronger and wait for the day he would somehow come back to the sky islands, to avenge the real murder and punish those who were foolish enough to judge without evidences against Forthwind.

Appearence: I have something in my mind how he could look like, but I've found a picture at deviantart that really fits my image about him. Forthwind (Made by nachtwulf)

I've made the Greatsword:

Even though Forthwind looks like an adventurer or a free-minded guy, he was a Colonel due to his braveness and skill.

Abilities:

Forthwind's secondary resource is called "Power Gauge" and all of his skills are only restricted by cooldowns. Power Gauge is used to unlock the true potential of Forthwind, while without it his damage output is limited

Innate Passive - "Power Gauge": Basic Attacks on Minions and Monsters fills the Power Gauge by 5% each. This is doubled against enemy Champions. While out of Combat, it drastically gets lower by 10% each second. Basic Attacks from enemy Champions decrease his Power Gauge by 5% each hit, 10% if it Critically Strike. For each 1% in the Power Gauge, Forthwind gains 0.5/1/1.5 Bonus Attackdamage.

Q - "Pathfinder": Forthwind slams his Greatsword in front of him in the ground. After 0.5 seconds, enemy units in a straight long and narrow cone are Airborne for 0.2/0.4/0.6/0.8/1 seconds. The earth beneath is crushing and lava begins to break through, the air blasts coming through makes enemy Airborne. After being Airborne, enemy units fall down and receive no damage, but receive damage from on-hit effects. (Ravenous Hydra, Frostborn Gauntlet etc. will procc on every unit who falls down)

Counter: Hard to hit, but if it hits you you should have atleast something like Mercurial Scimitar or Cloak for resetting the Airborne-Status and being unable to receive on-hit effects.

Cooldown: 16/14.5/12/10.5/9

W - "Gravity Zero": Forthwind jumps up to 300 range forward. On arrival, he immediately rams his Greatsword while landing into the ground. 400 Range around him, all enemy units receive 50/65/75/85/95 (+35% Bonus AD) physical damage (Max 200 minion/monster damage). If enemy units are hit by "Gravity Zero" while being Airborne, the duration of being Airborne is increased by 1 seconds more and receive a debuff called "Kotorian Asylum" for 3.5 seconds.

Kotorian Asylum doubles the Power Gauge's current amount with each basic attack. (10% Power Gauge -> basic attack -> 20% Power Gauge -> basic attack -> 40% Power Gauge and so on)

Counter: It's easy to counter, except if you are caught airborne. Try not to get hit by his basic attacks if you have "Kotorian Asylum" or his Power Gauge gets higher and he gets more powerful.

Cooldown: 13.5/11/9.5/8/6.5

E - "End of the Line": Forthwind charges, then immediately starts running in one direction. In this condition, Forthwind isn't able to turn back immediately or in any other direction. He can slightly change his course with a delay to left or right. If he wants to go back to where he was, he has to go in a full circle left or right. Forthwind receives 20%/25%/30%/35%/40% bonus movement speed within 1.5/2/2.5/3/3.5 seconds.

Forthwind can cast his abilities to stop "End of the Line". However, while running he can cast his Ultimate several times until the last recast.

Counter: This is the most genius and worst skill at the same time. If you are caught somehow, he can reach you in seconds. If he tries to close a gap with it, try to outsmart and run left or right. His movements are delayed, he can't turn back and his path is pretty much predicted. But still don't forget that he can use his "Gravity Zero" to reach you, so don't underestimate him.

Cooldown: 22/18/15.5/13.5/11

R - "Scattered Sword" Forthwind sends forth in a 500 range one piece of his Greatsword and can recast within the next 1.5 seconds. On Recast, he can throw up to 4 pieces with each 1.5 seconds time between. Each piece of his Greatsword represents 20% of his Power Gauge and will be depleted upon throwing each pieces, so he needs atleast 20% Power Gauge to throw one piece of his Greatsword.

Each piece of his Greatsword deals 25/35/50 (+40% Total Attackdamage) and adds slowing effects from Frozen Mallet, Rylai Scepter.

After all 5 pieces are thrown or after 1.5 seconds, Forthwind can cast "Final Countdown".

Recast "Final Countdown": Within the next 4 seconds, Forthwind can cast "Final Countdown" to summon all of his pieces at once, overcharging his Power Gauge and preventing him to lose any points of his Power Gauge for 2/4/6 seconds. (For an Example: If Forthwind throws only one piece of his Greatsword, but then receives some Power Gauge while fighting and then summons back this piece, he receives 20% Power Gauge what he has depleted before in addition to his current Power Gauge amount)

Counter: The projectile speed isnt very fast, you can avoid them. What it makes is to attack him while he depletes his power gauge and gets vulnerable. Don't use stuns or any other hard CC, otherwise his Ultimate is disturbed and his power gauge is not depleted.

Cooldown: 90/75/60

Way too many swordsman already considering we have garen riven yasuo aatrox master yi and tryndamere. second your passive that you listed is almost exactly like tryndamere, your w ability is one portion of riven's q and the ult is almost identical to irelia. Be honest with yourself and take a look at how much this is something you personally want not something that would fit in league or even follow what some of the devs have expressed interest in. they want champion diversity and not just standard humanoid with a big sword. So instead of changing one element of an already used ability by other champions do something that breaks the mold not just copycat it.

I like the lore. Sounds interesting. Definitely seems like it would have a high skill cap. Looks like Ezreal with a sword.

Hey neverworld it's me again ;) Anyway you say you do this for fun, and yet when someone criticizes you, constructive or not, you go off the deep end. Bottom line wtf man:/

You're weakest link is the name. If he had a cooler name, more people would come by and see what a great idea this actually is. Frankly the name sucks. Try something more epic like, Forthwind, the wings of vengeance.
