  1. What do all the acronyms mean? ARAM, CC, AOE, ELO, GANK, could someone reply with a list for future summoners to refer to?
  2. Summoners hate it when the Jung cant do his job, tell me what a Jung role entails.
  3. ANYTHING you can think og to help people out.

Thanks people,

  1. What do all the acronyms mean? ARAM, CC, AOE, ELO, GANK, could someone reply with a list for future summoners to refer to?

ARAM = All Random All Mid. ARAM started as a custom game mode made completely by players, everyone would click random and play on the normal 5v5 map and play by honor and stay mid. It was so popular Riot made it into an official game mode complete with its own map later.

CC = Crowd Control, this means any form of disable or loss of control ability. Stuns, Silences, snares, slows and suppressions are all examples. Going a step further 'soft' cc are things like slows, silences and blinds that do not completely disable your champ in some form. Stuns, snares and suppression are example of 'hard' cc. The difference isn't used too often, but in case you run into it later.

AoE = Area of Effect, any spell or effect that targets an area and not a specific target.

ELO = (I'll be honest I don't remember exactly what it stands for) is a representation of your matchmaking score, in other words higher ELO means tougher opponents and vice versa.

Gank = (I beleive the origin of this phrase is a shortened term for 'Gang Kill', but I'm not 100% sure) This means someone who is not normally in the lane has entered to give a number advantage, usually this means the jungler, but can also mean someone from another lane.

  1. Summoners hate it when the Jung cant do his job, tell me what a Jung role entails.

Jung means Jungler, the role that resides largely in the Jungle, or the area in between the lanes of the map where monster 'camps' reside. The Jungler role does 3 very important things.

  • With a champion farming in the jungle, this gives another lane (that would normally have 2 champions otherwise) more gold and experience without crippling the other.

  • The Jungler controls the buff mobs (Blue and Red) and can bring these into play himself or give them to other laners without the laners leaving their lanes for too long.

  • The jungler can stays out of Line of Sight of the enemy team throughout most of the early game, meaning they can pop up anywhere they would like (like in a sudden gank). This means that in relatively even matches it's up to the Jungler to tip the balance in his/her team's favor. This is usually where people get mad at the jungler, because if someone is losing their lane or would otherwise want the jungler's help and they're not there tempers flare. It's challenging because the jungler would have to be moving towards the lane already (as they can be, at times, on the other side of the map) before the sudden fight breaks out to help significantly. On the flipside if a Jungler ganks one certain lane much more than the others (known as 'camping') the enemy laner and/or the other laning teamates may get annoyed with the favoritism.

ANYTHING you can think og to help people out.

If you don't mind reading you can look at my Basics guide here. I also have a specific Jungle Guide. I have a collection of them and I'm also continuing to work on them, although I've been much slower on the release lately.

Of course, all that being said, if you want a full, comprehensive everything's covered from A-Zilean Guide you can check out The All Tomato's Mobafire Guide here (Honestly this guide blows mine out of the water)

Hope this helps out a bit, gl hf. Feel free to ask me anything else!
