Riot Says They Won't Sell League Of Legends' Victorious Character Skins

and here comes my thought, why not grant the players who achieved gold or higher a token which can be traded for a skin :D so for example: this years victorious skin would be a champ you neither play nor like, let's say victorious you joined LoL too late and didn't get a chance to earn the victorious skin (like myself D:) but would really like to have it so you could use the Token and trade FOR

you still had to achieve every year GOLD or higher but you could select older skins and the purpose of showing of "experienced players" or rewarding players for achieving gold would stay the same :D

The whole point of the victorious skins is to recognize your achievements for a particular year. If I see a Victorious Janna, I know that this player was ranked Gold or higher at the end of season 2. It is unfair to the players that earned it if Riot starts giving it to others who did not earn the reward in season 2. These skins have significance and some people take alot of pride in owning less common skins. Additionally, there are skins that we can never get now and I personally believe that riot should make a few more like that.

Agreed, there are thousands of skins to buy. There is no reason to not have a few unobtainable skins out there.

I kinda like that idea, it doesn't cheapen the fact that you were still require to achieve gold in each season to collect them all, but at the same time, provides unfortunate people like myself the ability to grab up Victorious Elise, since I started playing in early season 4, so long as we still achieve gold ranking. It gives us a little choice in our Victorious Rewards, rather than something random.

I wouldn't be opposed to a Victorious Viktor though. Hint, hint Riot.

This year is a marksman. Too bad I don't like marksmen. I am also not gold. So that could be an issue.

I think Vic. Vik would look really cool, though.

I also hate ADC. Until I decided to pick up the rest of the champions my unbought champions were Rammus, and 5 ADCs

So it's basically guaranteed to be Sivir, no other marksman has been as prevalent as Sivir through the entire season.

Just watch the skin go to Urgot instead. Simply because this is the first time he has actually been good in like 3-4 years. And he technically is a marksman.

Season 5 Victorious Skin is Teemo >.> The teaser art got leaked early. Teemo is labeled a "marksman" in game, even though he's not really an ADC.

Hex then by that logic they shouldnt release championship skins. while i understand its meaning its also makes it so as time goes on these types of skin become useless when updates and the likes happen because only a select few people have them!

Championship skins are not really a reward for any achievement, they are more of, "I bought it when it was available and now it isn't." I understand that riot will at times re-release skins that were unavailable. My comment was primarily directed to the victorious skins. They are an example of something that players at the time earned, and I don't think that they should be given out to people that did not meet the rank requirements at the time. I myself can never get the first four victorious skins, and while I like them, if I eventually achieve Gold I don't think it would be fair for me to request one of them. And just because a select few own the skins doesn't make them useless, Riot handed out these skins as rewards and not to be purchased. That makes them valuable to the people who earned them. Just my thoughts.

All championship skins, but Riven one are available annually.

Because Riven was back before they turned so many limited skins into legacy skins - Personally, as someone who owns Championship Riven, I'm glad they did it that way - I sort of wish they had continued the trend, but I understand why they don't.

My opinion on this though? I like the idea, but what if it was only available to Plat+? Since there's no incentive to get past G5 anymore, maybe make it a Plat+ level reward to be able to pick what championship skin you get - Golds have to take that year's.

It was hinted that CS Riven may become legacy skin in a year, as in "usually limited skins were turned into legacy after 4 years".
