[Fan Fic][Prologue] The Shadow Rebellion

*Long time ago, there was once a young boy named "Sekkin" whose parents abandoned him due to his unsatisfiable desire of control over them and nearest persons. After several weeks, a master of secret arts found Sekkin and adopted him, even though he already had a son named "Icar". The master saw the potential in Sekkin, thus taught him the secret arts, in hope his legacy would continue to live through his sons. *

Over the years, Sekkin adopted the techniques of his master perfectly, with a strong fist and with complacency over his evolving skills - Icar though, learned the way of the secret arts, but kept in mind that mercy is no option, but a straight answer to live and let live. Sekkin and Icar fought against each other over the years until both became mature, and so the battle between them erupted to a different league. While both didn't fought earlier with their full power, they then decided to go on all-out with their full power.

The earth shattered, trees unplugged out of the ground by sheer willforce and the sound of metal crushing at each other echoed through the forest that they called their battlefield. Both extremely powerful, but only one could win the battle - Icar won, although it was not a easy task.

*Sekkin: "He... how could he beat me? He's a ridiculous idiot who couldn't even kill a fly if it wasn't for his idiocy... why did he won..." *

*The master got up and kept a close look at both of the contestants. *

*Master: "That was a very good battle indeed. I cheered for you both, but for one moment I was afraid you wouldn't win Icar." *

*Sekkin couldn't believe his ears. His own master didn't believe in him at all - atleast not enough to win. *

*Sekkin: "Give him the present or I'll take it and you wouldn't want it back when I'm done with." *

*Master: "Present? There is no such present. I believe I told you boys that I don't believe in gifting the one who surpassed the other. Victory and experience alone is present enough" *

*Sekkin: "Stop lying! I saw the box you are hiding ever since we were kids. I knew all along that you would gift us with it!" *

*Icar: "Is it true, father?" *

*The master shrugs his head: "Listen carefully boys, this box is sealed carefully for a good reason. Since the beginning of Runeterra, people faced death and pain through the most evil creatures who could not be beaten in conventional ways. The concentrated shadows that consists of pain and the death that these people faced, including the evil creatures itself, are imprisoned in this box. If you open this box, it will consume you and take over your body. You won't be the person you used to be - you will be damned to walk on Runeterra as a puppeteer of evil. Never touch or open it! Even if I die, never open it! I beg you!" *

Icar willingly accepted and excitingly awaited for his turn to protect the box, on the other side, Sekkin with its teeth bared, couldn't wait to open the box and inhale the powers it grants - and the master could easily predict his thoughts by a simple look at his eyes. Because the master was afraid that Sekki will find a way to open the box, he taught Icar in secret the way of sealing a person in the box in case Sekkin would go rampage. As a last resort, the possessed Sekkin should be imprisoned inside the box and sealed away before he harms anyone or anything.

In a long and silent night, the crescent moon's light bright as the sun - Sekki sundered the head of the master with his blade and opened the forbidden box. Sekki watched inside, but nothing but empty space was there. For a brief moment he thought that everything was a lie, but then suddenly a black cloud spread out and flew into Sekki's body.

*Sekki: "HAHAHA! I feel it! I feel so POWERFUL!" *

Icar woke up by the sudden laugh and shout of Sekki, and in the meantime recognized his father lying decapitated on the ground. Icar ran to Sekki to stop him.

*Icar: "Playtime's over Sekki! Murdering our father for power is unforgiveable!" *

*Mysteriously, Sekki was silent, uncommon for his nature and his big-mouth. Sekki immediately leaped to Icar and both fought endlessly for each others life to take. While in the last fight both were about equal powerful, Sekki's new powers made him quite more powerful than Icar could imagine. *

As a last resort, Icar slit his skin on his right arm and the blood flew miraculously to Sekki's location, surrounding him and capturing him by hardening the blood stream. Finally, Sekki was captured, and so Icar prepared the box to seal Sekki inside. Sekki struggled to free himself, his shadow became bigger and reached Icar.

*As Icar finished the last words of the ritual, Sekki's shadow captured Icar's feet and both were soaked into the sealed box.
A hunter, who spectated the brutal fight from afar, knew that the box should be closed forever, thus travelled to one of the most renowned clan in Ionia - The Kinkou Order. *

While many decades and centuries passed in the real world, the world inside of the box was untouched by the outworld and thus only a year passed by inside of the sealed box. The battle between Icar and the remnants of Sekki that seemed to be fully consumed by the shadows, continued on with no ending in sight. The box weakened Sekki enough to not escape, but he was still capable of fighting Icar to its full potential.

In the meantime, a young apprentice who desperately sought for power to defeat his equal rival Shen, peeked inside of the box. It was Zed, who, in that very moment, was overwhelmed by the emanating dark shadows. Although the box was opened, Sekki weakened Icar in first place before he could escape, to stop him from pursuing him and his new host Zed.

*Inside of Zed's mind, Sekki began to speak: "I've peeked inside of your memory and feelings. How irony strikes without warning! I am too a orphan who was adopted by a master, and I too have his son as my rival. This amuses me!" *

*Zed began to speak out loudly as he couldn't imagine where the voice came from: "WHO ARE YOU!?" *

*The master, awakened from his sleep by the loud noise, got up and asked before he entered the room: "Who is there? This room is forbidden to enter!" *

*But before the master could open the doors, Zed disappeared in the shadows. *

With the new powers, Zed challenged Shen and won, but for the cost of his humanity and the control over his body.
On the other hand, his master disbanded Zed because he opened the box of evil shadows. The master had no other choice than to disband him and to train Shen when the time arrives to challenge and defeat Zed, although it was a very difficult task.

*But before Shen could even start his training, Zed came back with an army of his apprentice who all wanted the same power as Zed. The master was waiting in front of the gates, welcoming Zed and his apprentice like welcome guests. The master kneed down and plead Zed to forgive him and for abandoning him. *
Zed generously listened to his plea and followed him into the building. The master plead him to destroy the box and come back as his apprentice and son. For one moment, Zed wanted to destroy the box, but a tremendous pain were caused in his head. Sekki, who lived inside of Zed's mind since his corruption by the shadows, controlled him to not destroy the box and free Icar.

Zed screamed and in fury killed his master and adoptive father, he left the building with its head in his hand.

Many battles were fought and death approached the unwary ones, but one did survive. The one who was all along sealed in the box - Icar.

Will he find his way out and seal Sekki, or now known as Zed, away and bring an end to the evil shadows who rebel?
