Nuriel is one of three angel champion that I've posted earlier in a series of prologues. If you are interested in Nuriel's prologue (Who's been referred as Seraphim, feel free to read Part 2 and Part 3 (Part 1 is the prologue of Daemon/Abaddon and Part 4 is the prologue of Nephilim))

Seraphim Dust & Daemon Blood - Part 1
Seraphim Dust & Daemon Blood - Part 2 +
Seraphim Dust & Daemon Blood - Part 3+

#Lore "If you ever felt how a part of you - something very important to you is burned down to ashes.. you'll understand me then, Summoner." - Nuriel, the Seraphim of Ashes

"*Nuriel is one of the few rare angels who were born with six wings and with a strong empathy. The most famous person with six wings and a strong empathy was known as a hero who stopped the demon invasion thousand years ago by closing the gate - but his life was the cost of the achievement. This certain hero was the grandfather of Nuriel. *

Nuriel loved each creature except the Fallen and the Demons, but when she met Abaddon, she didn't dislike him. She could feel that he was a good person who has been mistakenly chased - but most angels are blind and call their judgements before thinking. Nuriel felt in love with Abaddon, although he was half-demon - She never dismissed or left his side for that he was perhaps one of the greatest persons in the world of angels for her. At that moment, when she saw that Abaddon has been chased his whole life, she started to doubt the system of angels - atleast she doubted the judgement of most of them - and apparently, the General, the best friend of her father who took care of Nuriel when her father died in a war with demons, did also call his judgement on Abaddon for no reason except to breath the same air as him.

When Nuriel and her husband gave birth to a lovely girl, they both had plans and a new hope of a peaceful life - despite of the angels who chased them day after day for loving each other. Unfortunately, the General came for their heads - but brutally called a pillar of light on all of the three without warning - Nuriel and Abaddon were thrown back by the power, but their child has been hit by. In an attempt to revenge their child and to kill the General in despair, both were summoned in a moment of weakness when they were about to die. The League helped them to survive, but a part of Nuriel's heart has been cut out, broken to pieces, burnt down to ashes.

Nuriel begun to fight in the League and found somewhat enjoyment, something that fills the void in her soul by taking the lives of her enemies. She never forgets the fight with the General and that both she and her husband couldn't win against him at once - thus she had to get stronger - but for the cost of her empathy and innocence. Nuriel stands on the edge between Justice & Fallen."

#Appearance
Nuriel is hard to describe. She has six wings, that's for sure. She's very beautiful, but also very deceitful. Her weapon is a combination of a Greatsword and a Knight Lance (You'll se in the picture - The weapon itself is unique, and though Jarvan has a "lance", his lance is pretty much modern. The Knight Lance was used in the medieval for tournaments on horses)

#Champion Explanation

  • *Nuriel (From the jewish mythology. Means "Fire of the Lord") is a six-winged angel with a urge to fill the loss of her child with battles and deaths. She is very loyal and reliable, but also cunning and deceitful. *
  • Nuriel has been previously revealed as "Seraphim" in a prologue series called "Wings of Justice". Her life and her fate has been revealed, like that she was raised by the best friend of her father and became a demon slayer only because of him. Normally a woman was only to be a warrior if the family tradition allowed it - but in that case, Nuriel has been taught nonetheless of her roots. For some that may be foolish, for others it might be the only chance for a peaceful world without the demons living in it.
  • *Nuriel does have a husband. He has been revealed Abaddon - The Daemonhearted *
  • In the prologue and in the lore there is a person called "General" - This certain person is the father of Kayle & Morgana thus Nuriel sees them with different eyes. She does see the similiarity, but spits on Morgana though she should feel how Morgana was treated before she chose to be a Fallen. Because of Nuriel's lack of empathy due to the hatred she feels, she partially dislikes Kayle even though she appreciates that Kayle does not call judgements lightheartedly and without thinking.
  • Nuriel is one of the few loveliest and nicest person, but the pain and sorrow she feels makes her spoiled - thus she sometimes shows her feeling through her actions. Nuriel loves Abaddon more than anything else, but can't look at him without thinking of the child they lost.
  • Nuriel always floats above the ground, she does slightly hover up and down, this is because she doesn't use all six wings at once, except when she uses her ultimate.
  • Her Ultimate 'Heavenly Punishment' takes inspiration by a RIOTER. I don't know anymore who it was, perhaps Meddler - But someone from Riot said that he had an idea for a Champion who flies high above the air after he walks a great distance so it won't be too powerful - The Champion then lands on the ground - some sort of initiator/ganker. I do agree that this is an awesome idea, and I've been waiting for to use this on Nuriel since many weeks.
  • If you've seen Nuriel's sword and shield, you see that the shield isn't a common shield. It kinda looks like a gigantic plate gauntlet - the truth is, she strikes with it with her basic attacks upon critical strike. She is best played as an Offtank/Fighter, but can also be a great Tank/Support.

#Stats
Health 445 (+85) Attack damage 56 (+3.1)
Health regen. 7 (+0.78) Attack speed 0.625 (+2.9%)
Mana 225 (+44) Armor 22 (+3.1)
Mana regen. 7 (+0.55)
Magic res. 30 (+1.25)
Range 135 (Melee) Mov. speed 335

#Abilities

#Innate Passive - 'Seraphim Halo':
Nuriel gains one stack of 'Seraphim Halo' for each 55 unit she travels, up to a max of 100 stacks. When Nuriel is affected by movement-impaired effects like slow, fear or taunt, she'll lose 10 stacks each second. If Nuriel stays longer than 1.5 seconds on one place, she'll lose 20 stacks each second.

Seraphim Halo is used to enhance Nuriel's basic abilities and atleast 50 stacks of Seraphim Halo are needed to activate her Ultimate 'Heavenly Punishment'.

#Q (Basic Attack Enhancer / Basic Attack Reset) - 'Blind Thrust':
Nuriel's next basic attack has +225 range and will deal bonus 20/35/50/65/80[+Seraphim Halo Stack](+75% Bonus AD) physical damage and will mark the target for 4.5 seconds. Subsequent basic attacks on a marked target either from Nuriel or an ally, will decrease 'Blind Thrust's current cooldown by 0.5 seconds.
Blind Thrust works with critical strike and on-hit effects as same as the damage will work with Sheen.

  • Mana Cost: 30/40/50/60/70
  • **Cooldown: 8 at all ranks **

#W (Dash / Stun) - 'Holy Storming'
Nuriel takes a vast dash forward up to 650[+Seraphim Halo Stack], deals 65/75/85/95/105(+125% AP) magic damage and stuns for 1.5 seconds all enemy units within 350 range at the end of the dash.
Nuriel's dash can go through enemies, but will deal only damage and stun on the arrival point.

  • Mana Cost: 65/70/75/80/85
  • Cooldown: 16.6/15.3/14/12.7/11.4

#E (AoE / Barrier / Slow) - 'Rend Justice':
Nuriel takes a fast sweep with her blade on the ground - she creates in front of her immediately in a 350/450/550/650/750 range one narrow (width 100 range) rift on the ground. From the rift there arises a holy white barrier that blocks the path for 3.75 seconds. When first casting, enemies directly hit by are slowed by 45%[+% Champion Level] for 1.5 seconds and are pushed on one of the side of the barrier, depending on location & hitbox. (Similiar to Anivia.)

  • Mana Cost: 100 at all ranks
  • Cooldown: 22/21/20/19/18

#Ultimate - 'Heavenly Punishment':
Heavenly Punishment can be only activated if Nuriel has atleast 50 stacks of 'Seraphim Halo'.
Nuriel 'takes off' and flies high above in the skies and gains +20%/+40%/+60% movement speed for the duration. Nuriel loses one stack of 'Seraphim Halo' for each 55 units she travels or loses 20 stack each second she stays still. If Nuriel reached 0 stacks, she will immediately land at her current position. Nuriel can use 'Holy Storming to land on the designated location near by and stun and damage targets.

Side Note: Nuriel isn't entirely invisible - her shadow/silhouette is shown on the ground which indicates her current position.

  • Mana Cost: 100
  • Cooldown: 120/110/100

#Concept Explanation

Isn't she just awesome? I love the idea of one of the Rioters for the Ultimate and I've tried the best way to adapt it in her current kit.

If you look closely, her passive is involved in her whole kit. You have to move, keep track of your target and you have to use (unfortunately) math to estimate your abilities.

Nuriel's Passive allows her to get rewarded for being agile / always on the move. This reward flows into her abilities and is recommendation to activate her Ultimate.
Her Q can be a good poke ability and is the main ability of Nuriel, which Cooldown can be lowered by attacking the primary target furthermore - In a teamfight, Q can be cast multiple times and can drastically increase Nuriel's damage output as an tank or offtank.
The W is a common dash but stuns at the arrival. It's a great ability to initiate and offer some kills, but it can punish Nuriel for going lightheartedly into a group of enemies. E is a really strong ability that can decide the outcome of a battle, literally. For some it can be great to close a escape route for an enemy, but this can be used against the own team. We all know how the similiar ability works with Anivia - thus everyone knows the risk. Nuriel's E is still very different as she can create only a barrier from her location to an other location and not like Anivia to place a whole wall on a distant location.
Ultimate! Yeah, I guess people could complain that it can be a bit... annoying? But aren't many abilities .. err.. annoying? Nuriel takes a flight above Summoner's Rift / Howling Abyss / Twisted Treeline / Dominion and can devastate upon landing - Great ability to assassinate or gank other lanes, but needs atleast 50 Stacks of her Passive.

Counters Nuriel can counter agile and tricky Champions like Fizz, Zed, Irelia, ecetera depending on the skill level. She can also devastate squishy mages. On the other hand, Nuriel is weak against other tanks as the damage she does is somewhat nullified and her abilities can only work in combination - which makes CC a counter for her. You have to slow her, stun her, do everything that her passive gets lower and the threat she poses, too.

TRIVIA!
Did you know? Your current amount of your passive decides how far your Ultimate reaches? If you have 50 stacks, only 2225 unit range is possible to travel. With 100 stacks, you can reach about 5550 unit range. Don't use it when you have too low stacks otherwise your gank/assassination can fail and bring you down.

Did you know? The best combo for Nuriel is to W dash in a way so that you stay slightly above your target - you then use your E to create a wall and close his escape route - you then use Q and continuously basic attacks to deal pretty damage until he finally escapes or falls below a certain health threshold - you then can use your Ultimate, fly around and then assassinate your target with W and if needed Q. You can also do the combo from the beginning while using Ultimate, but it will take your chance away to assassinate the target later when he manages to escape.

Did you know? Keep in mind that your Ultimate makes you faster, but this means that you travel more, too. Thus keep in mind that your stacks can drastically fall down though you don't have that feeling when you walk normally and fill it with it.

I'm new here, but I would like to say, she looks amazing, there aren't enough angel champions in League, and Kayle ain't angel enough for me. That said I have a couple of questions.

  1. What role would she be played in?
  2. Would she have any special interactions, like Kha vs Rengar and Freljord queen events?
  3. What would she mainly be AD or AP? The skins look really cool as well, I especially like the last one, might be because WH40K is one of my favorite universes.
The Neverworld1 votes

Thank you for your interest!

  1. She can be played as an offtank or full tank, depending on your choice. Similiar to Pantheon who can be both a tank or full AD, his itemization changes also his gameplay pattern. Like with Nuriel - If you go for tank, you want to CC and deal constant damage over time - If you go for Full AD, you'll assassinate from above or with a combo.
  2. Perhaps. The problem is that the next Champion, her daughter, will be soon released and both Nuriel and Abaddon doesn't know that she's their daughter - which makes interactions quite a fuss. There would be some quotes/interactions with her husband and with Kayle and Morgana.
  3. Mainly AD/Armor/Mres/Health - But by buying Trinity, Iceborn Gauntlet or any other items that give AP as an optional stat - W will benefit from it. You can go full AP and nuke down your targets - It does all depend on your playstyle.

Yeah, I love Warhammer 40K too. Can't wait for the new MMORPG that will be released next year

BigOlBlackDude1 votes

Cool, this makes me want her in the game even more. But who is her daughter, and how do you know that she will be released?

The Neverworld1 votes

Umm... I will release her Champion Concept soon?

I've revealed her through the prologues of Wings of Justice (You see the links in the first part of the thread)

BigOlBlackDude1 votes

Oh, I just misunderstood you then, I taught it was official Riot release, and I read the the prologues, they were interesting

zork8241 votes

To be honest, I don't think league needs Angel-like champions. They are kinda clichè

The Neverworld1 votes

Yeah.. and Kayle and Morgana aren't angels.

zork8241 votes

I meant, we don't need any more of them

The Neverworld1 votes

You could've told me that about 1-2 weeks ago when I did the prologues and planned them to make.

zork8241 votes

1-2 weeks ago I wasn't even there

The Neverworld1 votes

Then you're late

zork8241 votes

What the hell is your problem? You post your own champion on the forum and you do not expect criticism?

The Neverworld2 votes

My problem is that your "criticsm" is the only comment/feedback I ever get.

I can't do anything if you don't like it. I can't change the fact that I made this Champion in 5 hours and all you have to say is "we dont need angels in league of legends".

If you don't like it, just leave please. There comes nothing good out of when you dislike a Champion by its looks.

Flintfall2 votes

I couldn't agree more, there's nothing a designer can do to change your interests and opinions, so dismissing the concept is both counter-productive and disheartening for the creator, if you don't like a champion concept then there's no need to make a comment where constructive criticism is also put.

I love Nuriel. As an avid Kayle main, I find another awesome angel champ to be something cool. I read Nephilia and liked her, but Im gonna say Nuriel is far cool. Then the Heaven's Lost Property...oh god yes xD

For constructives, I find flight to be really cool. Thats another reason I love Kayle, because she is always flying. But this is something far cooler.

Also: A Seraph's Halo flows better as a title for her passive - remember Seraphim is the PLURAL of the word Seraph (but a far cooler word xD). Also, "Holy Storming" feels clunky to say; maybe saying "Holy Storm" or "Righteous Storm" can helpmwith saying the attack. Also, Heavenly Punishment for a mostly flight ability seemsmisleading. Maybe "Heaven's Descent" or "Firefall" could work? Just trying tomgive suggestions :D

Rito plz. Pay this person and make Nuriel! Just needs a grammar nazi to make her pretty!

13/10 is my vote :D

The Neverworld1 votes

Thanks dude

Seraphim Halo is a reference to the Prologue of her when she was named as "Seraphim".
Holy Storm would suggest to create a real storm - though it is a "storming" - she dashes, that's why.
Heavenly Punishment is also another reference to the other two angels - Abaddon has "Demonic Punishment". Originally I wanted Nephilia to have something similiar alongside with Punishment, but Interlude was just too perfect and I couldn't find something with punishment.

Legacy of Xion1 votes

I see. But I still say 'Heavenly Punishment' is a bit misleading, but it is your champ. It's just, I get it as a reference, but why does the angel have to be punishment? Heavenly Judgement could work just as well, and would come off as more fitting for a Seraph. Look at Lux and Ezreal for example; they are together (please no Ez gay jokes) and none of their abilities reference each other. Abilities should be based on the champion; re-reading, Punishment doesn't fit Nuriel. Neither does Judgement.

Retribution would fit Nuriel best, as she want's penance for her lost child. Her retribution would be something, no? Daemonic Punishment, Heaenly Retribution.

You don't need simila abilities to refer to another; their quotes, their lore is for that. Abilities need to be fitting for the character, and for someone who was called Seraphim.

Yeah, it does mislead into creating a storm, but it's clunk to say. "Holy Storming" just doesn't roll off the tongue. Looking up synonyms, you could try Holy Onslaught, which isn't as clunky to say. Just look up synonyms and play around; if you really want storming, then maybe Storming the Guilty or Storming the Wicked.

Looking up synonyms for "holy" i found "seraphic". Seraphic Storming?

The Neverworld1 votes

You didn't read her lore or prologue, or? It can't be named "Heavenly Judgement" because she's everything else than like the adoptive father (general) who killed her child in the process of an assault that was meant for her and abaddon. She wants revenge, she fell in a pit of hatred where only battle and death can satisfy the void that has been left broken when her child was killed.

BTW: Ezreal and Lux weren't together before they joined the League. They met after they joined, thus no ability similiarity. It's also more of a secret love.

Legacy of Xion1 votes

Abilities should be based on the champion; re-reading, Punishment doesn't fit Nuriel. Neither does Judgement.

Retribution would fit Nuriel best, as she want's penance for her lost child. Her retribution would be something, no? Daemonic Punishment, Heaenly Retribution.

If you had read my comment, you'd see that I had re-read and realized yeah, Judgement wasn't the best idea. I then offered Retribution, which fits a lot better then Punishment.

I ALSO offered the idea of "Seraphic Storming" as a term that more easily rolls off the tonge then "Holy Storming." Not everything in my comment was about Judgement. Hilariously enough, I actually BACKTRACKED on myself by the end of the first paragraph and abandoned the idea of judgment.

The Neverworld1 votes

Well, this Champion Concept thread is 30 days old. No matter what or if I change something, it's in the oblivion.

Thanks though for your passion, but I'm someone who hardly changes something because one of many doesn't like something. In fact, if Riot would think the same, they would change everything on a Champion. Like for example "Uhh, Mordekaiser got all the cool ability names, but why not something from the band slayer? Make one of it named "World Painted Blood"!!"

You get my intention? Please don't feel offended, I'm partially disappointed by this community and tried to not to post any further Champions.... and yet I've posted a new one yesterday.. so yeah, I'm like on crack or any other drugs... need some therapy.

Legacy of Xion1 votes

I completely get your intentions. I get some people don't like changes, and it's not that I didn't like it, it's that either the name was clunky and didn't exactly roll off the tongue easy, or it didn't fit well with the overall character. I just was trying to help. I like writing, and I like helping.

And yaknow, the community can suck, but if one of your champs catches the eye of a Rioter, it can open up a big world of possibilities if you're lucky. Just gotta have some faith, trust, and a dash of pixy dust.

The Neverworld1 votes

I'm creating Champion Concepts since last year march.. so yeah, no.... thanks though

I will end kpop1 votes

This post might be a little old, but I respect the hard work you put into the development in this champion, I believe i doesn't matter if we already have angels or whatever because we need unique champions to play. Some people might not like KayleKayle or MorganaMorgana but they would love to play your character. I believe the amount champions in League of legends should be limitless, it will make the game more fun, we need new things and I wished people wouldst worry about the ideal champion. i believe many of the development should be consider otherwise it will take too much time for new champions to come out and the game will kinda die a little. I appreciate you works and i might be a late comment but I just happened to catch myself here while wondering off the website. I hope people will look at your champion more, who knows, maybe it will be so op. Good luck
