Malz support is an interesting option 700 range AoE long duration silence High bases Voidling can block skillshots Ult can lock an enemy down for 2.5 seconds He does tend to push and needs to e minions while the adc last hits them until he can finish a mana/regen item Voidlings can tank dragon No hard cc until 6 can be a problem if you're getting camped so an adc with a root may be useful (root + silence ouside of auto attack range = stun) Rylai's would probably be a good option in order to give his E a 4 second slow

Interesting Idea. Just curious, what build path do you usually do? AP or a traditional support build?

The first time i did it was unintentional. I had already picked malz before our varus decided they wanted mid. Thankfully i was duoing with our quinn so it wasnt thank big of a deal (and it was a normal game). I'm pretty sure i took my normal ap runes and masteries. I started spellthief and built roa first. I basically just turned into a botlane apc after that and wound up outdamaging the enemy malz mid since i had 2 targets for my aoe. I dont know if it'd work at a higher elo though and i dont think people in ranked would be open to trying it. I dont know if sightstone would even fit in the build path since roa needs to be rushed if it's built at all

I hear ya. I don't think sightstone would be a necessity now that the upgraded trinkets are great and inexpensive. the tankyness from the ROA probably helped a bit (most supports need to be able to sustain some sort of dmg) I would assume a Liandry's, Rylai's, and a Luden's would top the build off nicely as well. Hope you see you on the stream very soon! :)

I forgot his Q also grants vision. I don't know if luden's would be the best idea since his E already has a tendency to steal cs if the adc can't keep up with it. Abyssal and zhonya's on top of the ryliandry's combo with roa can make malz surprisingly durable (over 100 armor and mr with around 3000 hp)
