Seriously, all you people do is bitch and whine. It's been this way since season 4, when I first started checking them. I hope Riot ignores this place completely. I'll just keep having fun with the game, good luck fellas.

If it's not somewhere you enjoy being, that's fine. I know some parts of the boards can be more frustrating than others, but, if the boards have been supposedly doomed since season 4 and are still around, then I think they're actually a place where some people feel comfortable and welcome, even if it may not be to your tastes. If you have any actionable feedback I'd love to hear it -- as I always do -- and, if you don't, best of luck in game!

Well you're right. I was over generalizing. The memes and games has always been fun, and still is very much so. I'm more so talking about the hate threads appearing every single day, especially when they reach the top of the boards. I want to come here to chill as well, but it's like walking into a classroom where everyone is angry, it's just uncomfortable and makes it harder for me to enjoy something I love.

I totally get that, especially as someone who feels that the boards in general are often overly critical and sometimes in a very non-productive way. There's not really a good resolution for it though, short of saying the boards are not an acceptable place to voice frustration with the game, which I feel is not appropriate. I'm not really comfortable making the call that players are not allowed to complain or rant about things they dislike, and that means that players who agree with them are likely to upvote that content readily.

We've discussed the possibility of having a venting board for this sort of frustration that is separate from the other boards, but I'm not actually sure that would do much other than increase the amount of moderation required: something of that scope only really works if players are willing to self filter the content they post, and it runs the risk of a lot of angry players who feel that their content has been removed from a board they think it's appropriate on.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, I'd always love to hear them. There are probably a number of potential solutions we haven't explored, and I'm always up for finding out what those are.

I feel like the venting board could be a good idea? Often times I have the need to vent about the game as well, but I don't feel there's really a good place to do so.

I just don't think the Gameplay boards should be a place to vent, as opposed to having legitimate balance discussions

Even if a venting board was made, stuff would still end up all over the place. Some on accident, some on purpose.

As much as I wish for that I believe that wont happen. At this point i just look at the boards as the slums of the league community.

The problem there is that we do have an entirely volunteer team, and if we need to be harsher on all ranting or frustration threads anywhere but a specific venting board, that's a ton of extra work we have to be able to do. If we're not able to do it reliably all we've really done is create confusion. I'm not sure at this point if it's really feasible without the community self-policing.

There's a difference between legitimate criticisms and the things the take place on the gameplay boards. I'm fine with people having different issues with the game, but they all act like the game should be catered to them in specific. I like how the game is now, with a few tweaks here and there.
