Regional server

ShinigamiPΒ·Β·16 votesΒ·8,281 views

Greetings I would like to open a regional server in my country (Qatar), because we don’t have a nearby server that we can access. What information you need or what are the requirements to open a region server ? Not to forget that soccer world cup will be held in Qatar 2022 that would be great opportunity to advertise Esport. Also there is a lot of players from our region that would love to play in a much lower ping and compete against other regions. I hope someone from the development team see this and guide me to who to ask

Best regards

Isn't their a mountain of evidence that the location for the world cup is decided by whoever gives out the biggest bribes now to the selectors?

Also fuck E.A

Well, first of all this isn’t the main subject of this thread. Even if the World Cup has been selected to be in a country that bribed Fifa (no one can do shit about it), why wouldn’t Riot benefit from this opportunity to extend their player base and make things easier to people in that region? I would love to have a lower ping and enjoy playing my favorite game! :p

Because the OP brought it up as a reason to to add a server? That it would be a good idea to associate with an organization that takes bribes or the country that gives them. I mean the second reason isn't technically bad for riot but its not something that would look good PR wise.

They have to weigh the benefit against he costs. While it may be beneficial to players, that does not mean that the benefits to Riot (profit...despite what they say, they are still profit motivated) do not outweigh their costs (having to manage another region, including servers, salaries, etc), not to mention entering a market in which they have no experience can be hazardous due to differing laws and regulations. Though it might seem like a good idea to you, they have a lot more to think about than "plop some servers over here on the Arabian Peninsula."

You Brought It Up

How about not bringing it up yourself if you don't to encourage having it discussed or feel its not relevant.

I have another account in EUW and the ping is as you said 130-160, still its not stable nor easy to play with... a lot of champions combo can’t be done with such ping, Im not telling them to find a away to do the servers, Im just saying that I can help bringing the servers to Qatar .... Im an Electronics Engineer and Im offering riot to open a regional server ;)
