what constitutes harassment?

I asked a user to not comment on my posts, I of course will be doing the same and I haven't commented on any of his direct responses to my posts after saying this, i will also refrain from even mentioning him, if this user continues to comment on my posts after I asked him not to does this count as harassment under the boards rules?

I don't want him to be punished I just want him to leave me alone.

"I asked someone to not do something and they still did it"

First you have to understand that you asked. That in no way whatsoever means that anybody has to listen. It's a request. Requests, by definition, do not have to be followed. If he chooses to, fine. If not, that's fine too. There's no rule tha says he can't reply to whatever he wants.

That's just something you gotta accept. You don't get to decide that something is a crime just because it's against your wishes.

This is a public discussion board. You do not get to control who contributes.

I asked a user to not comment on my posts

It's probably more effective to simply ignore them and report any of their posts that violate the Universal Guidelines.

I got a punishment a while back for responding to a guy that taunted me as being the same person that had threatened me several years beforehand and was ban evading. It was for stalking when I was actually responding to his posts for the most part, so if the mods want to be consistent then yes you should be able to report him.

Why would anyone be obliged to stop responding to your posts just because you told them to? That makes no sense.

Well, you can't really stop someone from replying to you or directing comments at you. There's nothing inherently wrong with holding a civil discussion and it's not fair to punish someone for speaking their mind so long as they do it in a healthy way.

But if the person in question is being aggressive and needlessly rude, then yes, that would constitute as harassment and you can report it with the function on the forums or in the Discord server.
