[Important] Transition vers Discord !

EDIT : Good bye French Boards https://euw.leagueoflegends.com/fr/news/riot-games/announcements/transition-vers-discord

Hello I come from French boards and i want to bring you something that you might like or not like. Boards are going to be deleted.

Riot Tina

Witness Tina, Boards no longer fulfil their main function. So instead of this, "Community Blog will be created".

French boards are going to be deleted first, but they are not the only boards to be concerned.

https://boards.euw.leagueoflegends.com/fr/c/annonces-fr/OKIPK3bW-important-transition-vers-discord?show=flat&comment=0011 "ce n'est pas une décision qui concerne que les forums Français"

So what do you think about this decision ? You can go on the main thread if you understand French to see all the commentary.

Thats one way they can take less responsibility rather than address the players of their game.

Not surprised if it happens, but i do enjoy looking at the boards from time to time.

Disappointing but not surprising. That's what you get when you have Rioters that do not care about the community.

''It's not a late April Fool's Day but a reality: Community discussions will soon be on Discord. We are here to explain why we decided to migrate to this new discussion tool.

Over the years, we realized that the forum no longer corresponded to what we initially imagined, and that it was now struggling to fulfill its main mission: to be a privileged community space in which everyone can speak, participate to a discussion or simply to be listened to. A place where everyone can start the discussion he likes (partner search, tactical commentary or opinion on the new Teemo buff, etc.) and discuss with other members of the League of Legends community.

But times are changing!

Our internet chat habits too, and technologies even more. Ergonomic and designed to promote exchanges, Discord is a modern communication tool that many of you use! The qualities of this tool led us to decide that we could all settle there to recreate this community emulation, nourished by passionate - but constructive! - on the many facets of League of Legends.

Note also that a professional moderation agency, knowledgeable of the video game industry, will now take care of moderation. It is for us the assurance that everyone can express themselves and be heard in a good mood.

It is time to move on!

We will keep you posted on the dates of the change of community space (and also news about the new volunteer program ... which will become the "Ambassadors" program ...;)). If you have questions do not hesitate, I will publish this message with those that come back most often so that it is easier for everyone.''

That would be nice Since 90% of boards users are salty and biased and will just downvote every opinion they don't like We will be forced to use reddit There you won't find much Bias or Salt because they will just get downvoted into oblivion

Therefore they will never post We won't have to see their posts Feels good man

( ready for the downvots for speaking my opinion )

Man, that upvote hack hit hard

Jokes aside, i will miss the boards, it felt personal tbh since it was made and owned by Riot and not part of a bigger platform, although its unpopularity/ charm might've been part of why it's getting deleted to begin with.

Not gonna sugar coat things and say there were no problems/ toxicity withing the platform but i will miss the gems of posts that came out of it. Many thoughtful, personal and dedicated posts made it here that changed someone's day or life. I won my 1st ever online competition here which was and still is unbelievable. And ofc you can't forget about the memes xD Will be saving screenshots of my own posts and the responses i got on them since they meant alot to me.

Whether i migrate myself is up in the air tbh, i never fully liked how Reddit operates and Discord has some controversy so i'm not fully onboard. The Boards hit a nice middleground for me between casual and professional imo and would be hard to replicate somewhere else.
