Hello I come from French boards and i want to bring you something that you might like or not like. Boards are going to be deleted.

Witness Tina, Boards no longer fulfil their main function. So instead of this, "Community Blog will be created".

Thats one way they can take less responsibility rather than address the players of their game.

Not surprised if it happens, but i do enjoy looking at the boards from time to time.

Indeed I didn't see this anouncement in NA boards, so I wanted to know if the FR Rioters acted for their own reasons, or if it was the case of all boards, as they declared.

There is no mention of boards being removed at all in the thread or comments. And there has not be a community wide announcement on NA side or EUW english side. so I'll believe it when they literally say the boards are going away.

Still doesn't convince me. Are they talking about just french boards? because Again there has not been a community wide announcment. Why would they only announce it on the french boards when the majority speaks english?

This is isolated to the French Boards only. The NA Boards are not affected by this decision.

its pretty scary you admit that the actual complaints about the game/company are on the boards but are happy you won't see it on reddit because it gets downvoted?

Reddit, where you are supposed to downvote things if it doesn't belong on reddit, or doesn't add value to the conversation (comments). Instead, downvotes are used as a censorship tool given to the community to do the developers dirty work without making them look bad.

That's why I like the boards. It's an open space. It isn't as censored as reddit and other places are now a days. The boards is just a bit of what the old general discussion used to be. Those were nice times.

Pretty sad seeing boards being taken down and not supported.

And spamming the same questions have proven to work, plenty of times even, just ask the Rengar, Leblanc, kog or all the people trying to ban on each and every edition of conqueror.

They already ignore the vast majority of the playerbase's concerns. I don't think we should make it even easier to do so by restricting each issue to a single thread, especially since different people can have different takes on them, and if they all posted in one thread, how visible each of these takes is would depend almost entirely on the order in which they're posted.

Man, that upvote hack hit hard

Jokes aside, i will miss the boards, it felt personal tbh since it was made and owned by Riot and not part of a bigger platform, although its unpopularity/ charm might've been part of why it's getting deleted to begin with.

Not gonna sugar coat things and say there were no problems/ toxicity withing the platform but i will miss the gems of posts that came out of it. Many thoughtful, personal and dedicated posts made it here that changed someone's day or life. I won my 1st ever online competition here which was and still is unbelievable. And ofc you can't forget about the memes xD Will be saving screenshots of my own posts and the responses i got on them since they meant alot to me.

Whether i migrate myself is up in the air tbh, i never fully liked how Reddit operates and Discord has some controversy so i'm not fully onboard. The Boards hit a nice middleground for me between casual and professional imo and would be hard to replicate somewhere else.
