Several of the individual boards have developed their own individual communities, and communication within those places can be incredibly limited, Is there any way for that problem to be alleviated?
Also, will there be a way for the board peasants to have access to them fancy backdrops?

And it actually takes a lot of work to get those special posts up (well, if you aren't just copying from one that's already made), and they can easily be broken and mess up the entire page; this won't be a feature for regular use.

So as I understand your concern, there should be more leniency on threads that may be posted in a similar sub-board but not necessarily the best sub-board for the thread? Are you thinking it's an issue on how moderation is happening, or do you think it's an issue more with sub-board culture?

There is actually an additional board feature available for download that has included this feature in the past (a boards private message system, any one your board profile has friended can send you private messages) but the feature was a bit buggy so tundra fizz pulled it for a while.
You can ask around GD and see if FEK still has that feature and it's been fixed, or you could jump straight to downloading the Forum Enhancement Kit and begin making use of its several other additional features immediately.
I believe the page to find the fek download is stickied in the misc sub board, and Tundra Fizz can often be found roaming the boards if you've got any questions for him.
It would be cool to have an ingrained board feature for PMs but we've been making do with a third party one when it works.

Well the fek staff probably won't let you have that as an avatar, lmao. It's got some cool features tho and Tundra Fizz and crew have poured their heart and soul into it so it's well cared for. It's by no means required but for those users who would like some of the additional functionality the boards yet lack and won't have for some time yet, fek is as good as it gets. Wuks is doing something similar as well and both will increase the options available to board users in the immediate future while we wait for the board dev team to do board dev things.
