Need some clarification on why a post was removed?

Spoiling movies in chat should be a punishable offense

Just want to get some clarification on this. I was legitimately just stating my opinion and was not trying to offend or single anyone out.

Original thread link above.

Basically a guy complained about spoiling movies in game.

I then posted my opinion. ( not a popular one im sure)

Original post of mine : "lol honestly if you dont know how 95% of movies are going to end just by watching the trailer your intelligence needs to be checked just my opinion."

To which the OP responded.

OP post: Well I bet you're a highly intellectual from you suddenly insulting me for like, no reason? Also your opinion is wrong.

To which i responded: I didnt insult anyone? I just said if you cant make basic predictive analysis especially with the movie trailers of today then your intelligence needs to be checked.

The last post was then removed by a mod. The post of me clarifying that i was stating an opinion and not insulting anyone? Not even the first post that the OP mistakenly took as an attack against them for who knows why.

Automated message from removal of post:

Hey YOU SO BAD,

This content has been removed from the Boards due to it violating the Universal Rules, namely the Golden Rule. Everyone, Rioters, moderators, and boards users, should be treated with common courtesy. Telling someone else their "intelligence needs to be checked" is rude and serves only to detract from the discussion.

your intelligence needs to be checked.

> Well I bet you're a highly intellectual from you suddenly insulting me for like, no reason? > > Also your opinion is wrong.

I didnt insult anyone? I just said if you cant make basic predictive analysis especially with the movie trailers of today then your intelligence needs to be checked

So do i just message support to report a mod abusing their powers for no reason?

Just cuz i have an opinion that is unpopular doesnt mean you get to remove it. I was well within the guidelines of forums.

Making a statement that if you cant guess what is going to happen in a movie from the trailers that come out now you might need your intelligence checked;

Singles NO person out and simply stats an opinion. I didnt say that the OP needed their intelligence checked. I also used a qualifier. "IF" to further not single anyone out and try and keep anyone from assuming it was directed at them.

I simply stated an opinion and did not attack or directed it at anyone whatsoever.

It does not use harsh langue at all.

Im not being rude to anyone im stating an opinion.

If someone got upset over it its because they put themselves in that category.

Not me being mean to them.

So why do i get punished by having my comment removed when i did nothing wrong? Furthermore why is that comment the one that was removed and not the origonal one that the OP took offense to for some reason.

Why would you remove the comment clarifying that it was not directed at anyone rather then the one the person mistakenly got offended by?

Honestly the MOD in question here is clearly abusing their power.

They should be focusing on removing posts that actually break the Rules for the boards.

Like the main post by OP in this thread that calls everyone "assholes" That is offensive.

Or the mod Themselves calling someone an "asshat".

These are direct violation of the board rules by a moderator.

Not trying to be a jerk here but Singling people out and removing their posts when they have not broken any rules while The mod is breaking the rules at the same time is unacceptable.

Thnx in advanceed

I just said if you cant make basic predictive analysis especially with the movie trailers of today then your intelligence needs to be checked.

you are only proving my opinion correct in fact by your lack of basic understanding and willingness to shove your negative emotions onto me like its my fault.

These two are the issue here. The comment I quoted above restates your initial assumption and then, in the second line I quoted, basically says "and I'm right that your intelligence needs to be checked, because you're incapable of basic understanding." That's not okay.

Further, your original comment was already extremely borderline, given that the entire premise of the thread was "I didn't predict the ending, and had it spoiled for me" and your comment was "lol honestly if you dont know how 95% of movies are going to end just by watching the trailer your intelligence needs to be checked just my opinion." Given that the whole thread was the OP saying he didn't know how the movie ended, your comment is definitely directed at him at least partially, making it an inappropriate comment in the first place.

Berating someone's intelligence is absolutely against the rules. It's insulting and rude, and does nothing to further a discussion.
